  • Our actuators can be seamless replacements for most applications, however, should verify the necessary specifications for compatibility such as voltage rating, force rating, speed, ingress protection requirements, and stroke length.

  • No. However, we have a large variety of control boxes to choose from for each actuator. Alternatively, you may also use rocker switches as a form of motion control.

  • Yes, however, you need to ensure your control box can provide sufficient current draw and compatible voltage. Otherwise, you risk damaging your actuator(s).

  • Yes. However, it is important to have sufficient voltage and current to be applied to your actuator.

I originally tried an actuator that was rated for the weight I needed ( it was not from Progressive Automations). And it failed miserably. In fairness to that company I am using it on a crane and I am I. The granite business. Now I did not try lifting the crane with granite on it but lifted it high enough with no load so my winch could do the rest. Linear actuators are supposed to be able to hold more weight when used in a static situation such as this than they can lift. Well this was rated for 660 lbs lifting and the first island we used it on was about 450lbs. As soon as my winch had the island about four inches above the tray on my trailer the damn thing broke. Fast forward to this actuator which I will admit is rated for 1600 lbs. This thing is a beast. The first island I did with it was closer to 500 lbs and I made sure to use the actuator to actually lift the piece up and it handled it like a champ. Also the other actuator was advertised on Amazon as IP65 rated and the one they sent said it was only IP44 rated. It was doomed from the jump. This Progressive Automations actuator says it is rated for IP65 and I believe it. It has already been through several monsoon storms here in Arizona and shows no signs of it. I have since found they have an even heavier duty model that at some point I will upgrade to as overkill in this department is a good thing. I would recommend this to anyone who need an actuator they can actually count on.
