Your cart is empty.The original progressive rate fork springs soak up the small road bumps, yet are firm enough to absorb the molar-rattling ones. Spring rates have been chosen to reduce front end dive during braking, yet still provide excellent ride comfort. They warranty the fork springs for life. Progressive rate fork springs have several advantages over straight rate springs. A straight rate spring only offers linear resistance to compression and is a compromise. For example, if you have a 20lb straight rate spring, it will take 20lbs of force to compress the spring one inch. It will take 20 more lbs. of force to compress it the next inch, and so on, until the end of the travel. A Progressive Rate Spring has the advantage of a rising rate resistance to compression. For example, a 15lbs. - 25lbs. progressive rate spring will take 15lbs. to compress it the first inch, 17lbs. more the next inch, and so on, until the end of the travel, taking 25lbs more to compress it the last inch. The benefit of this is that the spring can be soft enough at the start of the travel to offer a plush ride, yet be firm enough at the end of the travel to soak up the big bumps. Measures 1.48 inch OD by 14.75 inch length.

Big improvement over the stock springs. EZ install. With the front wheel off the ground, simply remove the fork caps with a 36mm wrench, careful they are under spring load, remove stock spacer and spring, adjust fork oil level per instructions. Then install new springs and spacer, reinstall fork caps, open beer.

The heavy duty springs are a real improvement. I am 280 lbs and they absorb bumps and railroad tracks like they are barely there.

Not impressed. I was hoping it would dampen the front forks on my 2010 HD wide glide and prevent nose dives. It did not do what i had hoped. instead it seems to give a "false" stop to the movement after a short travel, then continues the travel after the stop. I would not recommend these.

I spent about 2 hours to make this change out. Followed the simple instructions. It does take some special tools (like a 1 3/8 socket) and next time I would use a baster or something to level the oil. Getting the oil levels right probably took 1/2 hour of the duration.

I have the Super Glide Custom, and I replaced the stock springs after trying a friends bike- the front becomes a tad softer and starts to soak in the otherwise harsh edges of uneven concrete pavement- which was a really big bore in the city where I live. The wrists and elbows would take this non-stop slight hammer- and that caused fatigue. I would seriously recommend this upgrade to the front struts. The long distance rides get better by that much... NICE.
