You just need to choose a proper collet, and next clamp the pipe, and then expand the pipe. Use a 1/2" or 3/4" impact wrench will save more effort.

I coupled this kit with the harbor freight hole punch. So now I have an hydraulic exhaust expander and hole punch for half the price of just an exhaust expander. That works very well with the hydraulics, I have not tried with an impact. Good value and quality. Seems very durable.

You definitely need a strong impact to get the pipe stretched out. 3/4 in impact for sure.

It works fine, but you need a 1 3/16 in or 27.5 mm socket. 1 1/8 in socket is a little lose. It's a little odd. Not sure I'll keep it.

I just got kit and all the o rings on the expanders are broken on 4 of them. unfortunately I need to use kit asap and will have to figure it out. I didn't even get extra orings with kit.

Expanded 3”1/2 inch exhaust pipe to sleeve one another. Took a few tries and some heat but it did it. Expanded 4 sections and still works as it should. Smaller pipe would be a breeze. Good quality for the money.

First unit received was defective. Mfg got another unit out in two days. This unit will expand exhaust pipe tubing so that another piece of pipe will slip into an expanded flange end. I was impressed at how fast they sent out the replacement. I'm sure there are other uses for this but automotive exhaust is what I need the tool for and it fits the bill.

Bought a new OEM header for my KTM 45 EXC and, of course, the pipe on my muffler and the insert pipe on the header were the same size. Go figure. So much for OEM. This enlarge my muffler pipe just right to 2" inside diameter. Haven't tried the other ones but I'm sure they'll work just as good. Nice case too. You have to enlarge once and then rotate around a quarter turn and enlarge the other four spots. Comes out pretty round. Not perfect but I was finally able to mount my muffler.

This thing is a piece of crap. Trying to redo a 4 Inch exhaust and I got everything set up right greased the bearing and all parts that touch each other and I hit it with an impact and it opened up the pipe like 1/32 of an inch and stopped (using milwaukee 1/2" impact) and refused to go farther. After disassembling the whole thing I find the bearing dug into the race and left grooves so once it gets to that spot it stops
