As far as I can tell, the listing for this product did not indicate it was only compatible with discs froma specific region, yet that appears to be the case, as even after changing the country from US to Australia, it only wants to play region-free discs, and nothing with Australian-specific coding.Funnily enough, the front of the instruction manual seems to indicate that the product plays Region 1 DVD and Region A BluRay. It would be nice if that were indicated clearly in the product listing. We will be returning this and instead, just purchasing a bluray drive to connect to a laptop.

The picture was of passable quality when viewed straight on, but the sound was tinny and inadequate. If it had had Blue-Tooth capability, the sound could have been directed to the vehicle's infotainment system.Also, I used the unit only ten to fifteen times during the three months or so before it quit working, and it was merely adequate. I could live with the average picture quality and tinny sound, but with the unit's failure at just under three and a half months old, I would not recommend that you spend the better part of $200 on it.

Well worth the cost this is a rugged easy-to-use Blu-Ray player. I generally use an outboard speaker connected by a 3.5 mm cable making the experience even better. Perfect for watching in bed or up close on a desk or table. Among the limited choices this is the best for my money.

This device looks nice. It works with subtitles only. I prefer to have closed captioning in it, too. My dvds do not have subtitles, but it has closed Captioning. Closed captioning and subtitles are far separated, FYI. I am looking foe this similar device that has CLOSED CAPTIONING.

I bought this for two reasons and it fits both perfectly! I bought it for when I had neck surgery and wanted to watch movies in bed while recovering. No getting up and down, no fumbling around, easy! I also use it when camping! We use it indoors and outdoors when cable isn’t an option. No skipping, no tons of cables, just lovely! The screen is a good size for personal viewing as well! We are 100% satisfied!

This is the 3rd portable player that I bought made by Sylvania. It’s a great improvement from the previous models. The screen is bigger and the resolution is fantastic!

I'm comparing this unit to an old Sony portable DVD player from 2008 we've used for the past 13 years. This is the only comparison I have since I'm unfamiliar with the portable players on the market right now. my old Sony unit had a great picture, a solid feel, wonderful sound quality, but finally gave out on us from years of use with 3 kids. When I received this I was surprised at the light weight of it as the Sony unit was smaller (only a 9" screen), but way heavier. I know this does not indicate quality, but it feels like it will break easily with the first drop or bump. The sound is not terrible, but it's not as good as my 13-year-old Sony unit if that tells you anything. The picture is not easy to see from angles, you need to be in front of it to see the picture well. I am far from an expert on portable Blue-ray/DVD players and what goes into them, so please understand that. I am going to keep the unit because the other units didn't have very good reviews either, and overall this is just for my kids and occasionally for me. Other than the 3 issues I listed above, the rest of the features and functions I'm very pleased with. Also, this plays discs that my other player would not read, so that's a plus!

I wanted a larger player that does Blu-ray as it becomes an ever more popular venue. This player has the size, quality & ease of use I needed. Generally use it plugged in so I can't speak to battery power & have only had it a few months but so far I like what I see & am pleased with the sound quality as well. Currently a very pleased buyer.

Excelente definición, el tamaño de la pantalla es como el de una computadora. Quizá su único defecto es que no tiene salida AV, solo entrada, pero me parece un excelente producto.
