I have a pair of messy birds, and scraping the poo off the slats off the rusty old grill was a real pain. This large grill which was what I needed -- using a jigsaw (a hacksaw works too) I trimmed off a few inches on two sides so it fit into my existing birdcage. It slides in and out like a champ, and it's easy to clean. It's quite sturdy and there are no sharp edges that could hurt your bird's feet. If you need a new grill for the cage bottom save yourself some money and get this, then cut it to size.
