Geeft vergelijkbare resultaten als een duurdere/professionele variant van een collega.Echt precieze resultaten kan ik niet bevestigen, maar geeft een goede indicatie van wat het oppervlakte qua vochtigheid is.In mijn geval een oorzaak van een lekkage in een plafond kunnen opsporen door de vochtigheid oplopend te volgen met deze meter.

This moisture meter is very accurate and very fast at giving a reading. Ive used other similar meters but this is the best overall by far. The screen is bright and the pins are very sharp and easy to use. Its a great option for checking how much water in held within your wood products.

Proster Wood Moisture Meter is not something you use a lot but is nice to have when you need it, I have it to see how much moisture is in my firewood for my wood stove. This helps me to know if i move it to the back of the piles or burn it now. I am sure there I am sure there is many uses for this, and you would not use it very often however it is great to have in the toolbox for the few times you do need it. This is sturdy and simple to use.

The meter comes with everything needed, including a 9v battery and simple carrying bag. The instructions weren’t too difficult to follow, but I did have to read them to understand how to operate it as I’ve never used one of these before. Be sure to save those instructions because they also contain the table on how to set it for various species of wood.On occasion I work with lumbar, typically to frame up a simple structure or build something and this will help be sure the material is sufficiently dry to work with.It’s nice that not only can one use the pins on lumber, but it can also be used without them on other building materials such as drywall.I don’t have another meter to test the measurements against, but the meter does come with a calibration test, which showed it was pretty much spot on. It isn’t clear though on how to re-calibrate it if it's out, the manual didn’t covert that.It’s all plastic and care should be used in handling. I doubt it would do well if dropped on a hard surface. The red cap over the pins is particularly fragile and I expect it will get broken or lost if one uses this meter with any regularity. The cap contains the calibration reference, so try not to lose it.

Nice piece of equipment!I am very pleased with this moisture meter.The build quality is good without being overly heavy and has a nice feel in the hand ergonomically.I like the battery compartment...insert the 9-volt in the right polarity, press it lightly downward to seat it against the spring pressure and done. No short wires to finagle or snap connectors to break.The display is easy to read...very clear and has good contrast.I got this primarily for the pinless functionality and the response is very fast...a full resolution reading within about one second.To utilize the pinless functionality, you have to lay the back side of the head of the unit against the surface you're testing.The carrying pouch is a thick, tough material, yet soft and flexible.

I'm using this moisture meter to check the moisture level of various woods before I use them for different woodworking projects. Knowing the moisture levels makes a massive difference to know if I can or should be using a certain material or not yet as generally when working with wood you want to ensure that it is dry before doing anything with it as the expansion / contraction can make a huge difference. The same applies when you are framing out a room in the home as well because the moisture levels will change the composition of the wood and why it is generally recommended to let the wood sit within the space it is going to be used for almost a week. This moisture meter helps to know what the levels are at and when it is ideal conditions to be able to leverage your wood. I know that people utilize these for other purposes as well but this is the core purpose I have and for that it's working well and the error margin is within acceptable range for me.

I have several moisture meters and I'm testing them to find one I can trust. The measurements between meters vary quite a bit, and even this one varies between pin and pinless modes.I first tested this on pressure treated pine that was purchased a few weeks ago. This meter read 10.1% on pin and 15.4% on pinless. My name-brand pinless meter read 9.3%. This would suggest that the pin measurement is reasonable but the pinless is reading too high. However, I was expecting around 15% since it's treated lumber. No conclusive result.I then tested this on a thick oak board that has been drying for a couple of years. This meter read 7.2% using pins and read 10.9% pinless. The reference meter read 6.5%. So, another suggestion that the pin measurement is more accurate than the pinless.So, while the results are inconclusive, this meter seems to be more accurate in pin mode. If you're using this to check firewood, I think this meter will work fine. However, if you need something more accurate to test wood for furniture for example, you may want to get another meter and compare results.

This is my first time having and using a wood moisture meter so I can't vouch for the quality and accuracy compared to others but it does seem accurate in my limited testing around the house. When trying it on different surfaces, it always returned the exact same results when placed back on a previously tested surface. Just the fact that it always gave the same readings for any particular surface would make it appear to be accurate but that's just a guess.The tool itself is very light and easy to hold. The display is clear, well laid out, and easy to read. The kit includes clear instructions in different languages but is not really needed given how easy the tool is to operate. I only had to reference the manual to know which each mode is used for. The battery is easy to install and remove as well as the probe protection cap. When taking readings, the results are instantaneous and change in real time as you move over surfaces.To be honest, given the price and ease of use I cannot find any fault with this meter. I am sure I will get a lot of use out of this.
