All flute bell covers affect sound quality and volume to some degree but this one affects it the least and works well. I use these covers for both my concert and alto flutes and it works on both. Very pleased with this purchase.

This works great if you one play middle C, or B if you have a B foot. They should make this for panpipes!

Ok I have this an extra star because it did actually fit well in my flute. But after trying it once, it seemed ridiculous to have air coming out all the different finger holes but blocking just the bottom. Also I had to take it off every time I went to put the flute in the stand, when I'd switch to piccolo. Not useful, not for a flute anyway.
