This is a good price for 2 proximity sensors. My plan was to use these as an automatic on/off switch for when the cabinet door is opened on my tool chest. Unfortunately, my level of experience with electronics is just enough to make me dangerous, so I didn't source the power supply and relay, yet to do the project properly. I thought these would work by wiring them in line, but they don't work that way. I did test the sensors by putting them to power and the LED indicator light turns on when metal gets near the sensor tip, so they should work fine once I get the remaining pieces of the puzzle.

I used these proximity sensors as inputs for an Arduino project. I mounted them near a shaft coupling on my tractor to indicate the speed of my pto and if it was actually turning.The sensors are made well and the seller claims meeting IP67 specs which should be adequate for my use.Would buy again.

I'm using these in some hobbyist industrial automation projects, and they work quite well. The price point is great especially for the hobbyist. They detect quickly and very well and do not have any signs of miss-reads. They do contain plastic so they should not be used in extreme heat or cold.

These work good and have about a 5mm sensing distance. I use mine to operate the coil of a relay. The end can get damaged so make you use a rubber stop or something to block what metal gets close to the end but can get close enough to get a signal. Seems well constructed.

These sensors seem to be made well, and they detect metal quickly, reliably and no miss-reads. I love the status LED on the back end which is extremely useful for testing or a quick adjustment without looking at the end user interface.The temperature range and IP67 protection rating should cover a very large range of indoor applications and even outdoor, although I wouldn't push them to their heat or cold limits.The price is good for 2 proximity sensors, and I will be buying a few more of these to use for a CNC mill project.

These sensors work great when hooked up correctly! I did not notice the big NPN in the description, and I wired it like a PNP, so I had problems. Shocker, right?!?!?! Wire it like an NPN sensor, and all is right in the universe! The 4mm range is accurate. I powered these off 24V, and the sensor would pick up the metallic object when it crossed about halfway on the sensor end. The LED on the back is excellent for a quick adjustment without looking at the screen or whatever else you have shown the signal. I liked them so much I got 4 more.
