You have fond memories of using an IBM keyboard on your early computers. So, I thought you would go 'retro' for a while with your Windows 10 laptop.

I use a Linksys PS2 kvm switch and have had trouble finding a USB to ps2 adapter that will work with it. This one works perfectly. A good price and works as advertised.

This is a great adapter, it worked right away to hook up my old wireless keyboard /mouse combo that has 2 ps2 connectors for the IR receiver. I was about ready to get rid of it until I came across this adapter. Glad I kept it.

As another review mentions, on Win 10 it installs as a Barcode Reader. I personally don't care what kind of driver it uses or displays as, so long as it works. I'm using it with a Trendnet 8-port KVM switch which has PS/2 inputs, but my Lenovo has USB and no PS/2. Out of the package, it works. We'll see if that's the case for the longer term, as I've had another adapter which would work for a week or two, then not work.I had to deduct 1 star, because out of the box, the plastic case between the cables simply fell apart. Just a tiny IC chip with the wire leads soldered to it. Duct tape to the rescue. If it fails before the return period ends, it's going back.Cheap Chinese product.

Although this cable is advertised as a mouse & keyboard USB adapter (which would have mouse & keyboard icons on the coloured plugs), it is really a barcode reader to USB adapter (with two arrows on the coloured plugs). On my computers, the keyboard worked but the mouse did strange things.

I will still give 5 stars. This did not work for me. But I just wanted to plug in a old keyboard that I really liked. I did not have a plug in mouse to go into the other socket. And that may have made the difference on if it worked. This was not expensive but was worth a shot. Will not downgrade rating because it was just a trial anyway.

Finally a PS/2 to USB adapter that works correctly. I have tried a couple types of adapters over the years and they all failed a keyboard ghosting test. With this adapter, the key ghosting passes with flying colors, a must for gamers. I have a much loved Northgate OmniKey 101/ULTRA that I've had for around 26 years and have used with every single desktop PC that I've owned in all that time, which were many. Newer PCs no longer have PS/2 ports and require USB compatible keyboards. My old OmniKey has an AT compatible keyboard cable adapter which adapts it to a PS/2. With this Top-Longer PS/2 to USB adapter I will have many more years on my beloved keyboard which is from the days where they were built to last and last and the quality far surpasses anything made today. This lite gadget is surprisingly awesome. I’m legit really pleased at the quality of the transfer from older machinery. And the video enhancement software that comes with it is pretty great - especially for vhs tapes and such. I’m really glad I got this.

Worked great with my custom point-of-sale keyboard. Doesn't seem as well made or as professional looking at the StarTech equivalent, but it is much less expensive. The SANOXY and Sewell adapters did not work with this custom keyboard.
