Simply attach the provided mini-USB attachment to the top of the controller then place the DS3 into a charging slot to start charging. The charging station plugs directly into the wall, leaving the USB ports on your PS3 open and your entertainment center tangle-free.

I have never left a review for this (sorry about that). It has now been 3 years, yes 3 years lol since my purchase and this thing is still going strong. Absolutely no problems. My husband loves it and it made a perfect bundled Christmas gift along with COD Black Ops and the Dual Shock 3 Controller (which is also 3 years old no problems and still goin' strong)!

Just scored a set of these from Amazon, finally got the full set! A lot of people were just selling the base and one adapter, or just the base by itself. Anyways, onto the review for the product. One of the adapters has the micro USB port tilted down, which tilts along with something inside of it. You have to press it in + down to get it into the controller, and then click the back part down to get it to lay flush.Other than that weirdness on one adapter, the set works perfectly as expected. It's two small, lightweight adapters that click into the micro-USB port on the tops of the controllers. It doesn't interfere with how you hold it at all, and there's almost no weight to it. Then when you're ready to charge the controllers, you put it into the base, and gently push it back. It connects to the base similar to a magnet, there's that kind of pull-click feel to it.Then it just charges! The lights blink red while charging, then the lights turn off when charging it completed. This is a lot nicer than other charging systems, which often seem to have an LED on at all times (draining electricity from the wall and adding a glowing element to my entertainment system, which is distracting when trying to watch a movie in the dark). This set up also doesn't put any weight onto the micro-USB ports (which I was worried would break after a few uses - I'd rather replace my charging set up than have to replace my controllers prematurely due to the port dying), and doesn't take up too much room, either. I have it set up right next to my Wii U gamepad charging station. All in all, a worthwhile buy that I'd be happy to buy again in order to keep my full set charged at all times... just have to wait until they're at a decent price again...

The dock is very help but the extra piece which you connect with the controller to act as an conduit for the dock is very fragile lets just say if you open and put it back again 3 or 5 times that extra fit which you connect with the controller will break easily.

The cradle works, nice to have controllers always ready. Actually got 2, maybe a bit excessive but chose the setup for two reasons. First, it cleans up the room, keeps controllers tidy and doesnt look half bad. Second, the controller adapters fit well enough but wouldnt want to test long term results of constantly swapping between controllers. The adapter on the controller itself looks just alright. The colour is not the greatest and I cant help think they could've made it a bit smaller. The weight and balance work on the controller; it adds a bit of weight but the controllers are a bit light to begin with.Overall it works, the benefits of the package outweighs the changes to the controllers.Bit late in the game to buy, controllers confirmed not to work with next gen. Purchase if you want for your collection, nice but not necessary.

Bought this to free up the USB slots on my PS3 and to leave less cords dangling for my one year old to get a hold of.This is solidly contructed and works like a treat.Keep in mind this will only charge controllers. There is an adapter that you put into the USB slot at the top (it's black, looks a little weird on my coloured controllers, but c'est la vie) which then easily connects with the charger. Because of this piece it will not charge the message pad, bluetooth or Move accessories.Well worth the $20 I paid

This charger is fantastic! The best part is its size and functionality. It is really small and light, much more than I had anticipated. I have very little space for my TV and game console as it is, so I was worried a charger would just get in the way or make everything congested on my little TV table. But this charger fits right in and looks great. It also functions perfectly as a stand for my controllers when I am not using them- which is much better than just having them on my TV table where they can and have been knocked off and damaged. The controllers fit into the charger with no difficulty and are very secure. I don't have to worry about them falling out or not charging correctly because they were not placed into the slots right. The way this product charges is by attaching a small plastic "strip" to the back of the controller, where the USB cable usual plugs in, and then placing it into its charging slot. The strip is just a conversion for the charging stand which does NOT function by plugging directly into the controller's USB charging port. I was a little concerned at first about buying this product because of that, but the strips are hardly noticeable. They are thin and lock right onto the controller with ease. It doesn't get in the way at all, and in fact you don't even notice it's there once you start playing. But of course you can always remove it when you're not charging the controller, however, leaving it on was no issue for me. When the controllers are installed, the charger works perfectly. I thought it charged at a reasonable speed. It didn't take any longer than using any other method of charging. In truth I actually thought it was fairly quick.Another plus is that you can charge your controllers without having to turn on your PS3. So you can charge your controllers anytime whether you are playing games or not.

I recently got a PS3 for Christmas and hated the fact that I had to plug my controllers into the console to charge them and that the system had to be powered on to charge, so I decided to get a standalone charger. I did some research and found that this was a better reviewed charger and the PlayStation brand, so I ordered it. Needless to say it does the job and in my opinion, looks nicer than just laying the controllers down on your entertainment center to charge. The only issue that I've had, is that if you put the controllers into the charger, but don't press them in securely, they won't charge. It's almost like you have to hear them click into place before they will charge. This is something that I did not know and I thought at first I had a defective unit. I could get one to charge but not the other slot, until I pushed down a bit harder.Pros:- Affordable way to charge your PS3 controllers, so they are always ready- Looks great on an entertainment system- Charges two controllers at once, so you can leave one charge if you are playing for a long timeCons:- Have to press pretty hard to make them click into place- Lights on the top of the controllers blink over and over again until they are charged, which can be a bit distractingOverall, this is a great little unit that will keep your PS3 controllers charged up and ready for some game play.

Good piece of equipment, makes it really easy to recharge controllers when I don't need to deal with usb cables getting lost or underfoot. Easy to use, though if you want to use the mini-usb slot in your controller, you need to find a place to put the charger extension that the device uses.
