Cashmere is the soft down brushed once a year from the undercoat of kashmiri goats. It is one of the rarest and most valuable fibers on earth. Shepherd Textiles Pure Cashmere Fiber is 100% real cashmere, with no cheap fillers or substitutes.
The Most Luxurious Fiber
Cashmere is the most luxurious of all the natural fibers. It is softer and warmer than even the best merino wool. Ours is the finest grade on the international market, with an average fiber diameter (AFD) of only 13 microns. It is as soft as a cloud.
Ethically Sourced
Our cashmere comes from herds that graze the vast Mongolian plains, not animals confined to commercial feed lots. The goats are brushed once annually when they blow their coats, and the precious cashmere fibers are then collected and carded in Italy.
Warm, Soft Yarn
Cashmere roving can be spun into incredibly soft, warm yarns. Ours has a staple length of about 3", which makes it pleasant to work with. Cashmere yarn will create wonderful hats, gloves, scarves, and blankets, far softer than anything sold at the store.

Cashmere is easily one of the most in-demand, yet highly difficult to obtain fibers, so I was very surprised it's available here on Amazon. Shipping took a few weeks with no communication, so I'm surprised that it finally arrived safe and sound. It's very cloudlike and so soft your fingers can barely perceive it- but it's divine stuff for softness, with one of the lowest micron counts. It's arrived in its plastic box with tape on the edges and no spill-out.

This was a leap of faith purchase for me. I am in the process of spinning cashmere with a supported spindle to ply with fine hand spun silk caps.The order arrived in a beautiful clear box showing the well combed top. Being very excited to see how it spun I grabbed a supported spindle and started to spin. It basically was spinning itself and was able to spin the desired size easily. It was like spinning butter. Highly recommend to any spinnersBeing able to support small businesses is very important and I will be purchasing from this seller again with out doubt!
