What is a Purge Valve?
- The Purge Valve controls the engine to discharge exhaust normally during the exhaust process.If the Purge valve is damaged, the exhaust gas circulation cannot be controlled. Excessive exhaust gas participates in the recirculation, which will affect the concentration of the mixed gas.

Had a problem with the original Ford part after many years of use failed close. Due to the age of the car, I bought this purge valve that was an excellent and direct replacement! Not expensive so it was a great deal! No leaks-no codes either and the car runs great again!

I had to replace the purge valve in my Ford Edge and there were 2 versions - less than $20 and about $50 for the Motorcraft version. Took a chance on this cheaper one and ended up eventually spending the money for a Motorcraft one when this one failed after only a few months. Go ahead and buy the Motorcraft version up front and don't waste your money on these cheap ones.

I bought this cause I was getting a code about the pressure in the gas tank and this worked my check engine light went off

The Valve solved my emission and gas cap error code . Seems to work ok for 3000 km. Shortly after 1 month it failed by being stuck open. This cause alot of issues such as misfire. I don't like the fact that it failed after the return period.
