Essentially easy to install with a little bit of know how. My only wish was for the wires to be longer. Other than that, this is a great set of sticks and buttons.

Honestly, I'm a button snob, and these are not quite up to my standards, however they are a very good value and they use the connection method that modern controllers use, so for ease and value they are top notch. As a person who grew up in arcades, I like the positive feeling of an old-school dipswitch button, but as far as I know, they are not made to be hooked up with modern arcade controller boards, say for a Raspberry Pi.

For the money, this was hard to pass up. The buttons are responsive and the joystick works well. This was also very simple to set up, just having to plug in each button to the board. My only gripe with this is that two of the LEDs were burnt out, which was discovered when it was first powered up.

I bought this set to mod an arcade 1up machine. This was my first time attempting a project like this. Installation was easy. My buttons only have one 3-pin connector so I didn’t have to daisy chain LEDs, but the way I understand it is that not all sets are like this.I noted that two buttons stuck immediately upon testing and they had to be replaced. Thankfully you get a few extras if you have a 6 button layout so this wasn’t a major issue.Next problem I noted was one of my LEDs did not light up on the red side. I replaced that button only to discover a new red button had gone out. After replacing the 2nd button all lights are on and no problems since then a week in. Im not sure if they were faulty LEDs or bad connections. My biggest complaint with this kit are the joysticks. They are very loose and phantom inputs are a problem. I’ve only noticed this one my 1 player stick so far but it’s the one that gets the most play and as mentioned before I’ve only had these for a week. I replaced the stock springs with 4 lb springs (you can find videos on YouTube on how to do this) and this helped some, but the phantom inputs are still there. It’s honestly only a matter of time until the other stick wears out. Keep in mind I’m a 30 something and I’m not spending 8 hours a day 7 days a week putting these sticks through their paces. Why the 3 star rating then? Because these were cheap, easy to install, and they get the job done albeit with some flaws. If you can deal with those flaws it’s worth the money, but personally I’ll be upgrading to higher quality parts sometime in the near future.

Swapped the original sticks and buttons on my Arcade1up cab as part of a conversion and although these look nice with the led lighting they are no improvement to the original in terms of playabilty.

Was looking for a set of controllers to use with my Raspberry Pie for a retro arcade build I was making. Thought I would give this set a chance. Twenty buttons, two joysticks, two controller cards, and all the wires and USB cables you would need to get them to work. It was nice that they were well illuminated. If you are handy with wiring, and have a bit of patience this is a pretty solid set for the weekend DIYer. Not sure if they would work well as a commercial grade set of controllers, but they work great for what I needed them for.

These were used to replace my 1up Arcade sticks and buttons. They are decent quality for what you pay for. The buttons don't click like a classic arcade button, but sturdy nonetheless. The led effect is pretty awesome. My only advice is to make sure not to have any positive/negative ends touch on the daisy chained led wires. If you have extras not being used and they are touching, it'll temporarily short the chain out, and the buttons won't light up. Cover exposed ends that are not being used.

Great kit and great value for the money. Setup is fairly easy if you make sure you plug all the cables into the appropriate slot shown on the back of the controller boards. Great kit if you want to use to modify the arcade1up cabinets to provide more buttons and joysticks.
