These side mirror covers worked very well to keep snow/ice off the mirrors. The mirrors stayed dry and the plastic toggle that cinches them closed held in place. (Some of the other toggles I have used on these mirror covers slide down the string and don't keep the covers in place.) The inner seams on the covers are not overcast, but I'm thinking that the silver coating on the inside of the fabric will probably keep them from fraying, but I have only just received them.
