Installation can be tricky, mainly removing the pin that locks it in place.I recommend watching a YouTube video to learn how to do it, but that might not be enough. The videos I saw took it out from the side, but you'll see that the pins can be taken out by sliding it to the top. Installation is reversal, just have it ready to slide it down when you have the lift in place.

These arrived quickly and are of excellent quality. When I installed these, even a single support strut was able to support the hood by itself. After I installed the second, the hood takes some real effor to close now, and this on a warm autumn day in Georgia. These are OEM quality and were a cinch to install. Vehicle: 2003 Acura TL - 80,000 miles, but still 23 years old. These Support struts have needed replacement for the last 5 years. If your hood , trunk, or hatch struts are sagging don't wait: Just buy the struts here and install them. Your car will be a lot nicer to you for this simple repair.

Recently bought a 2003 Acura TL and the hood wouldn’t stay up bought these they fit perfectly and keep the hood up quick 10 minutes fix for 20 bucks

Arrived next day. Installed easily (less than 10 minutes for both). They appear to be appropriate replacements for the factory-original units that lasted "only" about 9 years. Time will tell how these very cost-effective (meaning: surprisingly inexpensive!) hold up.

Both of the OEM hood struts on my aging Acura TL failed several years ago, but I just put up with them because I didn't know any better. Based on my experience with this car, I assumed that fixing them would be beyond my capability and that the parts would be expensive. On a whim, I searched for a YouTube video to see what would be involved in changing them out, and I was surprised to see how easy it looked. I then searched Amazon to find hood struts that would fit, and found these. The reviews were favorable and the price was good, so I went ahead and ordered them. It took me literally less than 10 minutes to install them (and that includes time spent looking for a flathead screwdriver to pop off the clips on the old ones). Probably the most productive 10 minutes I've ever spent.I only installed these today, so I can't say how long they'll last, but I can say that they appear to be well-made and they work perfectly. I'm thrilled to have working hood struts again, and I highly recommend them. While I may be a bit handier than the average person, absolutely anyone could install these. Go for it!
