I have always wondered how this cut protection fabric works. I am an artist and have numerous incidents with my craft knife blade over the years. I need to use my hands and feel what I am working with, so even when I know I should use a second tool to keep my fingers safe I often wind up using my bare hands. So, I decided I would try these little finger sleeves to see if they would offer protection without feeling cumbersome.Do they help protect from cuts? Yes, they do.Can you cut this stuff? Yes you can.What sort of assistance do they offer? If I run my knife blade over my finger I do not see fibers having been visibly cut. I took my finger out, pressed down firmly (but not in a way to purposefully cut it) on the finger cover with the blade and I do see some cut fibers, but not a significant amount. I did the same with a piece of tshirt fabic and it did slice a hole in the fabric. I rubbed the finger cover on the sharp edge of a broken glass plate and it did cut a small hole all the way through. I tried to cut the finger cover with a pair of scissors. The scissors pressed apart rather than cutting the fabric.Can you cut this stuff if you want to? Can you easily cut these if you want to? Yes. How did I do it?-With a brand new fresh rotary blade and ample pressure, I cut this in half.-With the sharpest edge of a broken piece of glass I made a hole all the way through this by drawing it across the glass several times.-With sawing action of a rounded craft knife blade, I cut a hole in one of these.-With my sharpest, strongest, sewing scissors I was able to slowly make purposeful cuts across one of these and cut it into two pieces.So, these will definitely help to protect your sweet fingers as you work with sharp objects. I find them to be comfortable and believe I will be willing to wear them as the protection they offer is good and the bulkiness is minimal.It is worth saying that I am a woman who wears size small nitrile gloves with a bit of extra room. My fingers are not teeny tiny, but they are small. How do I judge if these can fit everyone... Well, I can fit one on my big toe, so they might be good for most people's fingers.
