I like this unit because you can turn it on and leave it on as long as you need to. The other one I bought has a timer on it so you have to keep resetting it. This one I like better.

This was bought as a present for a rock and mineral collector who happens to also be in a medical profession. It functions well as a shortwave UV light for rocks, but as it is primarily an ozone and germicidal light, I had to make a plywood light fixture to restrict the light’s output just to an area a few inches below the light. The light should be run only when the user is not directly exposed to its UV light nor to concentrations of the ozone it creates. The recipient is professionally trained in the use of such lights in the medical biz and knows how to handle it in its off-label use for her hobby. If you plan something similar, read up on how to use germicidal lamps first and observe the precautions. All of that said, it works exactly as designed. It is not left on for long periods of time, so I cannot comment on its long-term durability, but it is decently built and includes the needed metal clips to fasten it to a sheet metal, wood, or plastic surface.

Compact and easy to move around. I can notice a difference after using it in my RV.

This is great. It’s a good sterilizer, sanitizer It helps with fungus and mold and in my case parasites just be careful because it’s stronger than you may think it does its job very well, but it’s fragile physically don’t go waving it around or anything it’ll break inside

It's small but effective enough to deodorize and sanitize a small enclosed room. Follow all the safety precautions while using a UVC lamp and it's perfect for the job

I bought this lamp, along with an ozone free lamp (which is of longer 254nm wavelength) for a little experimentation as light sources for a fluorescent mineral display but both produced too much visible light. I did find that the ozone producing lamp helped freshen a musty unused bedroom. I placed it on the bed on a sheet of aluminum foil, attached an extension cord, closed the door after exiting the room, and plugged it in. 1/2 hour later I returned to find the lamp had done it's job. The smell of ozone dissipated very quickly and the mustiness was much reduced.Unlike non-ozone producing lamps, this lamp offers more complete and penetrating effects. Both can sanitize exposure surfaces (they're not effective for sterilization) but the ozone penetrates into every nok and dark spot to not only sanitize but to reacy with foul smelling substances and break them down. UV alone can't do this effectively. As a doctor, I know thta asthmatics and others with some lung disorders may have their conditions aggravated by ozone exposure. lamps used in HVAC and air cleaner systems are likely not very effective becaus microbes in flowing air receive minimal UV exposure- sanitation takes time! UV air cleaners may help keep exposed areas of coils clean but doing so offers questionable benefits. These systems are expensive- ludicrously so. A HEPA filter to remove allergens and microbes is a more effective and economical choice. In either case, with good housekeeping the benefits may be marginal. One more thing- the near UV blue lights being sold for sanitizing purposes require several minutes of exposure to work if they work at all.So, I rated this lamp 3 stars only becasue it is useful for it's ozone effects. i downgraded it becasue of the misleading claims made for it in the listing.

It doesn't have a strong ozone smell, it's faint. It's plug n play. There's an on/off switch. The quality is decent.
