Looks simple to use and fast. However my hat blocks trimmed with this are always a tiny bit off on one edge. I have tried over and over and there must be something off with the line you use to trim to 4 1/2”. There is always a bit off on one edge.

I wish I had this same tool in a 6.5 inch as so often I am making that size block. Its great for the smaller blocks though and is easy to use.

This is the perfect tool to square up your half square triangles. Before ironing your HST's open lay the triangle, with the required size marked, with the dotted line on your seam line and trim the triangle. Then iron you HST open.

This is one of my new favorite rulers! I bought some for friends too. You don't even have to open up your square to perfect the size and accuracy of your HST. All you do is line up the seam with the line on the ruler and cut once! Fantastic.
