I got this when I started experimenting making my own essential oils. I am doing this as a homesteading craft, not commercially. I can't imagine an easier or better way to separate out the oil from the hydrosol.

I have not used this yet. My plan is to use it with my distilller to separate essential oils from the hydro sold.

We have broken our other seperator and were in the middle of production. Loved that had the product we wanted was delivered quickly so we could keep up with our harvest.

QWORK 250 ml Separator - This replacement did not have any hairline cracks or micro bubbles in it. It is slightly thinner glass than my Laboy pieces from China. The bottom drain is hand ground, while the rest of the joints and tips have been re-melted to give that smooth round edge. It is slightly chipped glass. It does not make it a bad product or make it unusable, just an observation. It says NY Glass for the painted logo. These are handmade and the two I saw had small differences in angles and hole diameters, common for something handmade. This was the cheapest available when I was purchasing. Laboy was almost 50% more in price. I have a full chem set and this is going to be used to extract rosemary, mint, lavender and others from my garden herbs. A Glass Soxhlet extraction set and a separating funnel are also alternatives to this piece. The 250 ml size is probably over kill for your average hobbyist or gardener. If you are looking to do big batches you will do better with a metal distiller. Copper is best because it removes sulfites , but stainless is also great. There are also many homemade stills and separators for those with capable hands. I will be using the piece with steam, alcohol, and hexane distillation. The overall quality is a 3 or 4 but ... I bought the cheapest one. Perfection costs more!
