These vix bits are made well enough to take a bit of abuse and get the job done. Others I have bought had plastic shrouds around the bit and broke when leaned on. These have that part made of metal and stand up to reasonable abuse. Recommended.

These are really great for hinges as indicated or anywhere you have a "rim" for the bits to center on. That said, they are not really useful for any other application, and they are probably not good for anything but wood. Mostly a novelty, or specialized use. They work and do what they claim. They're inexpensive and feel it. Overall they reside in a bin on my shop wall and get pulled out infrequently.

Good quality for the price paid. These are also another one of those tools or gadgets one wonders why it took so long to purchase. They do exactly as advertised and are a good product for the money.

Overall, I feel I got what I paid for.The springs are weak, and for the ones I use regularly, are now useless - or inefficient. I did break the bits in a couple of them, but they were easily replaced.I would not purchase these again, but am not terribly disappointed due to the low price.

- tops are flat (not countersunk so they actually center on the tapered hole of a hinge)- tops are not round- hole in top is not at center- some are stuck even before drilling

Out of the seven bits three of them were jammed and they get clogged up very quickly between the housing and drill bit. Also it would have been good if the housing was counter sinked.

This is the worst product I have ever ordered. I would have preferred to give this zero stars, but that isn't an option. I couldn't even use these once!When I first opened the package, I noticed that on two or three of the bits, the self-centering sleeve didn't actually fit over the drill bit itself. Therefore, some metal would need to be cut from the sleeve just to get the drill bit to go into the wood.Since the size I wanted to use first (for #8 screw) was one that didn't have the sleeve problem already mentioned, I put it into my driver and attempted to drill my first hole. The drill bit got stuck in the wood and came loose from the bit holder. I thought "no problem - apparently I just need to tighten the set screw holding the drill bit". I tightened the set screw, and the same thing happened again. So, I tightened it more, and promptly stripped out the threads of the set screw. I tried swapping parts from one of the other sizes, but without success. Now I won't be able to drill holes for #8 screws. Wow. Not even one hole drilled!I'm going to save my money and buy a higher quality tool from Harbor Freight.

You get what you paid for. Got these because my needs for vix bits is limited and didn't want to spend a bunch for the infrequent times I needed a 5/64 centered hole. The larger bits in this seems ok. The smaller ones are junk. Firts time I used the 5/64, the actual drill bit was slightly bent and literally fell apart when I put it in the drill (realized after the fact). Nothing really you can do to fix it. The other thing that should be known about the smaller bits is they DO NOt have beveled tips meaning the whole point of centering them is lost. You are suppose to center using the countersunk hole and you can't do that with these. Might work for a non countersunk hole. I ended buying a single 5/64 bit that cost more than theis whole set. Lesson learned.
