The Christmas Cows Ornaments Kit includes all wool felt, floss, and templates needed to complete 4 beautiful ornaments. Ornaments measure approximately 4”. Each ornament contains a Highlander cow head with various embroidered embellishments. The ornaments are made of modern holiday colors of green, red, white, black, and brown. The Ornament Kits are finished with open tops to be used as gift card holders. Creating the ornaments is not complicated. Pieces are cut using templates that are included with the pattern. The Cut pieces are then appliqued in place following the illustrated instructions. Decorative Stitches can be added if desired according to your taste. The pattern, which is included in the kit, provides detailed, illustrated instructions for various stitch types. The pattern also includes a full-color, illustrated layout design for each ornament. For those who want to challenge themselves, you can add your own personal touches with stitches and embellishments not listed on the pattern.

We are currently working on these for next year as a holiday craft project. You will need other items to get this one going: fabric glue, a very sharp pair of craft scissors and tracing paper, which are not included in the set and that is reasonable. However the amount felt provided to create these 4 ornaments is not generous. You have to be very precise to ensure that the elements can be generated from the felt included. I recommended measuring the felt and cutting it into sections before attempting to cut multiples. For example there is a very small piece included for the noses. Pre-cut into 4 sections first then attempt the noses. Same with the cow heads. Otherwise you may not have enough felt. It would be great for the next go around to have 20% more of each color included. Or some spare pieces.

I got hooked on her ornaments many years ago when visiting a craft shop in Long Beach, WA., I check each year to see if there are any new designs in the offing. They're fun to make and good for gift exchanges.
