Nicely built replacement cord. I like the strain reliefs on the ends of the cable. I think those will help the cord last much longer than my Escort cable did. Happy with it so far with 30 days of use.

Fantastic, only thing is it doesnt have the mute button but i can do that on the unit itself. That can be lived with compared to not having the radar detector work at all. Extremely satisfied

This RJ11 car adapter works perfectly with my Uniden R8 Radar Detector. Although you lose the "mute" feature button, I needed a cable that could run between my center console without the hassle of the OEM spiral cord. It does its job effectively, and since my radar detector is within arm's reach of the mute button, it's not an issue for me. Overall, it's a reliable and convenient solution for my needs.

I opened the packaging today, and the item has pop or something sticky on the prongs, and the point for power supply is rusted. These ARE NOT as described

I have my Escort semi-wired into my F150. The plug is tied to the visor mount and the Escort is on the suction cup mount at the upper left corner of the windshield (on the tinting strip, so it is hidden from easy view). I run the cord through the rubber of the side panel so it is hidden, under the door sill, under the floor mat, and into the console, where I plug it into the accessory jack. So, when mounted, it turns on automatically and is hidden from view, but no wiring into fuse box or mirror tap required. For that length of cord run, the cord needs to be around 12 feet. So, I have this as my backup. It is identical except for the length. At 6.5 feet, I can use this with the detector where it is if I plug this into the accessory jack in the middle dash and allow the cord to hand instead of trying to tuck it away. So, it is more obvious that the detector is there. If that does not matter to you, this cord is perfect. For me, it is a decent backup. One install note: I now unplug the power jack when I turn the truck off. I do this because when the suction randomly lets loose and the detector falls, it pull on the plug, which keeps it suspended in the air. After this happening for years, my old cord died because the plug pulled away from the wiring (which is why I had to buy this).Fir less than $10, this is a decent backup solution for your detector.

Seems to be a good replacement of the original at a good price. I hope it stands the sun of Florida
