  • DI with Guitar Amp Simulation
  • Polarity-reverse
  • Presence Switch
  • Ground-lift
  • Tuner out

Wouldn't it be cool to plug into a direct box that gives you the sound of a guitar amp? Unlike common DIs that simply pass signal to the console, the Radial JDX Direct-Drive delivers the tone and feel of a real guitar amplifier. Think about how freeing that would be, not having to lug an amp to the gig! Here's where the amp simulation magic happens: a series of filters meticulously modeled on a Shure SM57 in front of a Marshall 4 x 12" cab. From there, you have two additional voicing options: a vintage Marshall tube head, and an early Fender Twin. GearNuts guitarists are amazed and delighted by the Radial JDX Direct-Drive. You will be, too. You need this amazingly clever device The Radial JDX Direct-Drive delivers classic 4 x 12, half-stack, and open-back combo tones. On top of that, it gives you a presence switch for added

No 9v power supply in the box the DI comes in, so cant use it unless you buy something to power this on your own. Cant run on 48v phantom power.

Well made and smaller then I thought, which is great for a peddle board. I'm using it as a DI box and splitter. Peace of mind in case my amp go's down

This pedal has completely destroyed my perceptions of amp simulation/ DI boxes. I started playing in a praise band with silent stage, and needed to get my sound to the FOH board. My options were to run a very long cable to a backstage amp, a regular DI box, or something else. This turned out to be the perfect something else...a very realistic amp sound that takes up a few inches on my pedalboard. The sound engineer loves it, and my guitar comes through very clean in the mix. If nothing else, you should get one of these as a backup to your regular amp...it could very well save the gig if something were to happen to your amp. At around $200.00, you really don't need a better excuse to buy it. Also, it beats lugging a 50lb amp around!

This device does exactly what it claims to do, and it does it very well!!How refreshing!I never thought a DI could faithfully deliver the vintage tube amp sound that I love... straight into the PA.I like it so much I’m not even micking the amp onstage anymore, making set up that much easier. For smaller gigs I don’t even need to bring an amp! This is a big deal for me as I have gigged for many years with a 1971 Fender Deluxe Reverb and a late 70’s Princeton Reverb.I never could have seen myself using something like the Radial Direct Drive but now I’m so glad I found it.Thanks Radial!

Works great, very simple to use. I’ve used it to record as well as using it live, and it’ll be on my pedalboard until radial makes a better version

I was looking for an amp/cabinet simulator pedal and this was suggested by a friend. I used the pedal this past Saturday at a gig and it sounded great. Now I don't need to lug around the Fender amp I was using. The only issue is reverb, I ran into a mixer and used the reverb on the mixer, which was okay. A reverb pedal would be a good addition to my setup.

As with most things built by Radial, this thing is built like a tank! You can’t design a better built pedal. To me, this is designed with people that run traditional effects pedals and want to use straight to a PA or recording device where stage silence is required. For that it works surprisingly well. Very quiet & uses very little power. I can also see this working well through a solid-state amp.I used this straight to a PA from my pedalboard. The pedals on my board are compressor, fuzz, distortion, OD, delay, reverb and a few other time pedals. It works very well with all of these except if you have high-end distortion that acts like a preamp it might “fizz” out through this pedal on the Stack setting. That’s the only issue I’ve found thus far.Per the manual, the JDX 4x12 is a speaker simulator like a Marshall 4x12. The Stack is a Marshall JCM amp simulator with Marshall 4x12 speaker simulator in one. The Combo is a Fender Twin amp/speaker simulator. The Stack has the highest output and pushes the volume of your board. I found myself using that the most so far, but might switch back to the Combo.Combo is a weaker output than the stack and is much cleaner sound with high headroom. The person running the PA will have to boost your levels on this one if you are not running a boost pedal or active preamp.Overall, I highly recommend this pedal as an amp alternative, and for the price paid, you can’t get much better!Improvements: I would like to see a headphone jack, an output volume control and instead of the JDX 4x12, another amp simulator.

I love it! Product is very sturdy and great sound!Only downside is that there's no on/off switch to compare what it might sound without the 'effect' however this is one of those effects that you never need to turn off anyway. The only time you might need that feature is for making a review of the product but you can just use an a/b pedal for that.

I bought one used, and I had my doubts. When I first used it at home through studio monitors you can tell thats its better than straight into a mixer, but it didn't sound very natural with my pedals, sounded very plastic-y. I was disappointed at first until I actually plugged it into a PA system, this is where I got the full feel of what this has to offer.I usually use a Fender Blues Deluxe but I needed an alternative as a backup and for small venues where an amp can overcome the entire space. When this thing is actually plugged into a system, it sounds amazing. When I first started playing the sound guy didn't realize it wasn't my amp. The cleans sound amazing and the pedals sound realistic.Would highly recommend as a backup or alternative to a expensive amp simulator, whats best is you get to keep your pedals
