From the Manufacturer

The Raimondi Tile Leveling System was developed to overcome the common plague that has baffled many DIY and Professional tile layers alike; the problem of uneven tiles, aka “tile lippage”. This system of interlocking leveling clips and wedges ensures that your floor will be level from one tile to the next, and it also prevents tile for settling and warping as your thinset cures. The RLS system is easy to learn and you’ll also enjoy the increased tile setting speed you’ll be able to now achieve. But most importantly, the RLS system will help you achieve your dreams of a perfectly flat tile floor and you’ll absolutely love the results!

Used to lay tile in 6’x7’ bathroom floor. I leveled floor to 1/8th inch using 4ft level and Henry 549 patch fill. Only used 4.5” dewalt angle/paddle grinder with shroud removed to cut tiles. Dry cutting them worked out well and returned my tile table saw, no need for it with dewalt grinder and tile blade. Everything worked out well using clips and wedges, and I only broke 2 clips using pliers. Broke all easily after mortar firmed up 2 days later. Leave wedges in clips and just hit with rubber mallet on side of clips to break them. I also used dremel with grout bit and sighted depth shroud to remove any excess mortar in joints before grouting. Tiling is easy with these clips, wedges, and pliers.

Been a residential remodeler for almost 13 years. I've done my fair share of flooring including tiling floors, showers, backsplashes etc.First tile leveling anti lippage system I've used. Laid close to 1000 sqft of 24"x24" Laviker Golden Calcutta porcelain tile. We knew going into this job the slab wasn't going to be perfectly level even after using floor leveler and I also knew that these 24"x24" tiles wouldn't go down without a fight. The Raimondi system worked amazing to get these big tiles nice and flat. Out of several hundred clips, maybe a handful broke while trying to tighten them down but I'm satisfied with the way they snapped off the next day when removing. I'm not exaggerating when I said this product saved me ALOT of time and frustration. I'm positive I would not have been able to do a professional grade job without this system. I can take a five gallon bucket and slide it 30' across the house without it hanging up on a single grout line. I just wish whoever tiled my house before we bought it had used a leveling system, I can't back up the dining room chair without it catching on every grout line.Worth every penny. I believe it worked out to around an extra $0.50/sqft. If you haven't used a leveling system professionally, you really should. Bid it into your next project, I promise you won't go back to trying it by hand. Even if your a DIYer, I would invest in this system as it saves a lot of sanity. Can't wait to use it in my next shower install. I would say as a word of advice to make sure you install the clips on the edges of tile if you stop for the day as it will become a lot of extra work trying to dig out the thinset with an oscillating tool the next day. And trying to keep the homeowner from kicking and breaking them is another challenge in itself.

Maybe it was because it was our first time laying tile: but when we used this system, when we tightened the wedges, it pulled the tile from the mortar. The tiles were hollow and we had to start from scratch. We did end up using and liking this product to even the tiles, but you should ensure you still have a good seal after tightening each piece.

So I was doing my kitchen and morning room with 12x24 porcelain tile, about 220 sq/ft and thought I could do it by hand and save the money instead of buying this system. Well, I did about 100 sq/ft and even though I did a pretty good job leveling by hand it took me forever to do it. At half the job I decided to bite the bullet and buy this and it was the best thing I could've done. I wish I had used it from the beginning. It works perfect! No lippage at all. Just perfect! So if you are undecided whether you should buy this or not just do yourself a favor and go for it. Also you need the plier to do the job, otherwise it's like buying nails and not have a hammer. Fantastic product. I'll be using for any other tiling project now.

I bought the wedges, clips and clip tightening tool. The system works very well. My finished floor looks fantastic- very smooth and every tile is perfectly level and even with the one adjacent to it. I bought 250 wedges which is enough to cover a rather large area when using 1ftx2ft tiles. It is important to use 2 clips and wedges on the long edges of the 2ft tiles as there is enough length that the area near the clip can be well-aligned but the other end of the tile becomes mis-leveled with the tile adjacent to it. I did have several wedges which suffered a break on the side of the wedge when I went to knock out the clips and wedges after the tile had set. Wedges are still usable. This system does require a slight amount of work to remove thinset that may come up between tiles near the clips and wedges. You can simply wipe it off in the gaps away from the edges, but that is not possible against the clips due to the small areas that are hidden or blocked by the clips and wedges. If you remove the clips as soon as the tiles are set, you can usually scrub away the residual thinset, but if you wait a couple days like I did you have to add a little scraping and more vigorous scrubbing to remove the excess thinset. Overall, I love the system and would definitely buy it again. My finished floor is perfectly level and smooth.

I know there are other tile leveling systems out there but I really like the Raimondi system. I used it to set wall and floor tile and everything came out level and the edges all matched up. I think others have alluded to taking precautions when you stop for lunch, the day, etc. before finishing. If I stop on an unfinished row (and I did a few times), I insert the leveling clips along the unfinished edges and then with some scrap wood, secure them along the edge so that the tile edges don't stick up. If you use the Raimondi system, of course you need the clips that come in different joint sizes, but you also need the pliers that push the wedges through the clips. I absolutely loved using this system. I didn't have to do much about keeps the tile edges flush.
