I love rain chains! They add a bit of decoration usually in places you can enjoy them. SO much nicer than downspouts. They have a charming water-running sight and sound and serve a useful purpose. When we added a roof to our deck we added two large, heavy rain chains for the very large amount of water we have. So much water that we put rain barrels under each one. There was then no need for these anchors. They look as if they would be useful for lightweight, smaller rain chains.

I didn't realized I needed this until after I had my rain chain and it rained. Keeps it in place, especially during those heavy rains. Good material and length.

You definitely must have an anchor like this one in order to have a successful rain chain. This one does the work and keeps your rain chain staying in place. It’s relatively easy to install as long as the ground you want to anchor it to is soft and not totally dry and compacted. I recommend watering the spot first and then it’s much easier. It just twists into the ground as if you were twisting a screw into a hole. It’s exactly what I needed and made the process simple and quick

We added a new patio cover over the summer and hadn't decided how we would anchor the rain chains we purchased but ordered this anchor as a possible option. Rather than anchoring into the ground, we bought large resin planters to put the rain chains into and were able to use this anchor to secure the rain chain into a hole in the resin insert about a foot deep into the pot. The screw-like feature was useful as well as the chain and hoop to adjust for the right measurement. I'd imagine it would be the same going into dirt. It is a heavy-duty anchor and ended up buying a second one to add a second rain chain.

nicely made anchor for rain chains- it does pay to look at all the pictures and read the description fully- the stake is 12 inches long and the smaller chain attached to it is 17 inches. It is sturdy and once secure in the ground should hold a rain chain well. The 17 inch chain seems a bit flimsy but should work if not overly stressed.

It is only 13”. Which negates the reason I got it. Seems sturdy enough to have used if it was the length that was claimed.

Looks just like the product photos. The stake is made of sturdy metal, well formed with smooth edges and nice finish. (Copper, not sure about that.) The chain is pretty thin, with thin loops on either end - makes it a bit difficult to attach to the end of my rain chain. Also not sure how well the chain will hold up to very windy conditions and a heavy rain chain. My biggest issue is that the stake doesn’t hold firm into soft soil - I can easily pull it right out with the chain (even when completely screwed into the ground). I’m sure it will hold fine in normal weather conditions - and in grass or hard-packed soil - but this might not do well with a heavy rain chain in windy conditions. And I had ordered this anchor to hold the end of my rain chain at a small angle (away from the house foundation).

This is a great little tool! It's a simple installation, I was able to fit it onto two different rainchains that I own. The twisted screw-like design of the spike makes it really easy to twist firmly into the ground. Our dirt here is hard and packed, but I had no problem securing the chain so that it will not blow in the wind. It's perfect! No longer swinging and hitting our porch rails. I will definitely be purchasing more of this item.
