I have a more expensive brand solar filter I got for the 2017 eclipse, and a different lens. Couldn't find one in that brand that would fit the lens for a different camera for the 2024 eclipse. Based on the few reviews, I got this one, and am quite pleased. Since it's made of cardboard vs aluminum for the other one, I don't expect it to last as long, but it's not something I expect to use frequently.

I was looking for a durable solar filter for my scope with a 95mm OD. This 101mm ID filter worked perfectly. They include a strip of adhesive felt from which 3 short pieces are cut and put on the inside of the cardboard filter 120 degrees apart. Since I had to make up 6mm (in diameter) I first put on thick tape, then on top of that the felt. Checked it out. It works fine, even saw 3 sunspots. It took some time for me to find this product with an ID that would fit my scope. If you can't find your size go the Rainbow Symphony Web site. They have a wide assortment of solar filters and such. After I ordered it I realized I owned a pair of their 50mm solar filters (for binoculars) that I've been using for a decade or so. It is cardboard and film but if not abused it obviously can last a long time.

I have tried the filter and does an excellent job of allowing me to photograph the sun, so looking forward to the upcoming eclipse. It will be nice because it comes off and back on easily.

Fits Celestron 70mm Go Scope nicely but don't do the mistake I did and applied three velcro strips to the inside, I secured my solar filter from the outside with tape. Haven't been able to find the sun as obvious the location is.

It worked...once I found the sun, it may be a smudge too dark, oh, and it only fits my 90mm refractor that I don't use anymore
