So I’ve always just sat there adjusting the bolt in the back of the drum until it’s snug and just messing around by feel hoping it’s good enough but my god does this make a difference.It’s made out of solid metal, no plastic just metal and bolts. Great price and works well. It’s pretty dummy proof measuring the inside of the drum then flipping it over over and adjusting the shoes accordingly, makes the drum fit perfect and you know you’ve got a perfect alignment everytime. Wish i knew about this thing sooner.

If you are someone who prefers to and enjoys maintaining your vehicle at home, you know that when you replace or adjust your drum brakes, clearances are important. This tool allows you to precisely gap the roter to the drum, eliminating guess work. The reason I knocked off a star is because the adjusting mechanism of the tool could be smoother. The single nut and slider are sticky. You can still achieve fine tuning, but it takes some practice. I do recommend this product.

This thing is inaccurate, I’ve tried to use it on 4 or 5 separate occasions and each time the shoes were not at the right distance from the drum. Bought it hoping it’d save me some time, it does not.

The price is good. I used a tool like this 55 years ago when I worked at a service station. Drum brake jobs are a pain without one. I used this one successfully last month on a 1983 Bronco.
