I placed the same item on my jeep 20 years ago and it finally cracked and came off this year. I hope this one gives me 1/4 of the life. Nice piece but not quite the same gauge thickness as my old one but fairly priced and good look.

Very happy with this. I mounted mine "backwards" with opening facing the windshield. Gets plenty of air flow deflection off windshield, without all the bugs, dirt, rain, etc. from facing front. durable and good looking.

Product is fine. The image in the description doesn't accurately represent the transparency of the scoop. It's very transparent.

Easy to install with included auto-grade adhesive strips. Keep all those leaves and dust from falling into your Jeep Wrangler intake. My TJ had so much dirt and gunk under the cowl, water was leaking into the cab. I cleaned the gunk out and now with this air scoop / intake cover installed, I don't expect to have to do that again.

looks great, but wrong size. if your jeep has indendations on the hood for wipers, this is the wrong size. Get the narrower one from Rugged Ridge

Bought this one to replace one I put on 7 years ago when I moved to a climate with 4 real seasons (and lots of snow). These are marketed as increasing air flow, well I never noticed anything more than a placebo effect on air flow, let's face it most Jeeps don't travel fast enough to benefit from the "ram effect". What they do and do well is prevent snow from getting into the vent intake and freezing there, this means your defroster works at 100% as soon as the engine gets some heat in it. The first one stayed on through 7 years of summer heat and winters where snow was deep enough so I had to use a push broom to shove it off the Jeep. The key to getting them to stick is preparation of the surface, I use Acetone to clean the cowl prior to attaching the scoop.

Dont buy this if you own a Wrangler YJ. Investigate the Rugged Ridge 13307.01 "Smoke" Hood Scoop (also avail on Amazon.com) instead. Looks great installed, FAR, FAR sturdier materials, and it actually fits over the hood vent properly. This piece doesnt fit, feels like it would peel away in the slightest of winds, and is made of a thin, transparent plastic similar to rainguards for your side windows. Did i mention it doesnt fit correctly?

Looks great, fits great. Very easy to install. I ordered the Smoke so I can see when it needs to be cleaned out. Very happy with my purchase.....4 Days Later:This scoop would not stay stuck down to my cowl on my 2002 Jeep TJ. The driver side kept lifting and passenger side the adhesive would not stay stuck to the scoop itself. This scoop does not have the same adhesive like what is on the vent visors and such. It's more like a thin weather stripping. I should of returned it but instead I stuck a screw on each end and now it's staying in place...

I'd first like to say it fit my '04 TJ very well, installed easily, and looks really cool. I've read a few reviews saying the adhesive gives away quickly sometimes within two weeks. I've had it on for the entire summer and haven't encountered this issue. My guess is they didn't clean the hood prior to setting the scoop or tried placing it multiple times. Although an easy fix for it falling off if you no longer trust auto adhesive is self-tapping screws. I am curious to see how the scoop and the adhesive will fair in the winter and whether the weather affects the bond in anyway. If it does I'll update my review here.As for the functionality of the scoop, I have noticed a fairly decent difference in the power of my AC, and I'm sure I'll see the same thing with the heating. As for keeping engine temperature down I couldn't tell you, I haven't noticed any difference so I can only assume it does help to aerate the engine compartment.Pros:Looks cool, got a few compliments from other jeepers.Improved AC/Heating strength.Easy to install.Cons:Possibility on the adhesive giving out.Collects leaves and other debris, if you want to keep improved airflow you have to keep the vent cleared out.Could interfere with windshield wiper sprayers on certain models where sprayers are closer to the vent and windshield, though it doesn't effect the TJ.
