A Line is a long, loose dog leash that attaches to a dog’s collar or harness to keep the animal anchored to the handler during tracking, scent work, or hunting. Long lines require both handler and dog to be trained in a highly specific style of use; the line itself forms a strong relationship between the handler and the dog, acting as a communication method over distance.

  • Longer line allows more freedom for your dog

I have a one year old cane corso mastiff with the strength of an NFL Defensive End. He is currently in Schutzhund training, which is a high drive working dog sport. This leash has been great for the training. I can use it for long sits and long downs for obedience practice and its good for protection practice as well. When my dog's drive reaches 100 in protection practice, I need a leash that will not slice my hands open when holding the dog back from the helper. If it wasnt for this leash, I'd be in a world of hurt. The fabric is soft but its VERY durable. This leash was worth every penny. I even use it for our walks so that when he wants to go off for a little 'sniff' action, I do not have to follow him foot to foot. Great Buy Great Price Great Quality.

Seems good so far. I haven't had any issues whet the clasp cutting me and the line is solid. I wish I could find a similar size line with the same material and a smaller clasp: I have a 13 pounds dog who likes to swim and this line is great, other than the fact the clasp is designed for a much bigger dog.

bought this to use on my new German Shepherd puppy to train her outside. Great product. Sturdy nylon strap. I think it's nylon, its the "standard leash material". My dog is over 60 lbs and pulls like a maniac and this thing isn't breaking any time soon. The solid brass (i think) clip and spring are sturdy. Definitely recommend this leash for anyone who wants to do outside training with large breed dogs.

Thinner than I thought but works fine, clasp at the end is heavy duty. If your dog pulls hard enough to break this then should be investing in dog training classes not a leash. The stitching seems strong and of good quality, the material tight with little to no stretch. I live in the country and have tons of weeds and brush. It doesn't seem to pick up any more leaves or foxtails than any of my other leads.

Nice, strong, lightweight leash with very strong and heavy clip. However, because it is nylon, it is slippery and if the dog pulls suddenly, the extra line can pinch/squeeze the hand holding it. I wear lightweight leather gloves for better grip (equals holding cotton twill or cotton/nylon lead w/o gloves). Caution: Not recommended for dogs who like to go for a quick plunge in a pond or stream on lead -- being so lightweight, the line tangles around dog's legs potentially inhibiting swimming ability. If used for walk/swims, prepare to take the plunge to rescue your pooch.

Horrible lead. The clasp, where you pull it down with your thumb to hook to the dog collar, sliced my finger almost to the bone. The nylon part was good though, very nice feel to it. Turned out to be the most expensive lead I ever bought though.

This leash oozes quality and is truly a pleasure to hold--so soft and easy on the hands--nice when you have an extremely strong husky that likes to pull. However, something about the material it's made of seems to cause it to pick up every twig and leaf along the way, so that a short time into your walk your dog will be hauling a small brush pile behind it, which is rather annoying. Can't say I have ever experienced such a thing with any other leash.

I got this lead because it is the accepted length for tracking in Schutzhund. I have used it a few times for tracking and in protection as well teaching the blinds. It holds up well, especially considering the stress we put it through. It's still pretty new and can burn the hands but that is expected with nylon... I just need to invest in gloves. The metals parts seem to be holding up. I am satisfied and would recommend this lead to anyone.
