These pens were all dried out. Such a waste of $$. I was so disappointed when I used them for an event and how upsetting it was when kids tried to use them. Save your money and look for better spy pens.

Kids loved them no problems with any of them which honestly was a shocker cause the price felt to good to be true but I was proven wrong.

Just handed these out at a birthday party with 7-9 year olds. You really have to write hard and trace over the area a few times with the "invisible" end and then give it a good go with the "decoding" end to get a faint image to show up. Also, you need to pull the pen end entirely away from the pen to reveal the decoding end - several people were unscrewing, etc. - not really intuitive and you kind of feel like you might be breaking it, but that's how it works.I wanted these as opposed to the "light" decoder pens as those can be hard to see in the daytime, but I think the light pens are probably more satisfying to use in the end. I read reviews with some people indicating that the ink may have been dried up and was hoping I got a good batch. As of 11/20/2021 - not so much... The are neat looking and work a little bit - so 3 stars tops.If you're having a spy party - THIS was awesome: Top Secret Dissolving Paper Note Pad. These were cool: 6 Pieces Detective Glasses Secret Service Sunglasses BBTO. For the price, these were fun: Fun Express PASSPORT STICKER BOOK ($7 for 12!). These were really nice quality and everyone loved them, however I suggest shopping around to get a good price: BirthdayExpress Secret Agent Spy Party Supplies - Empty Favor Boxes. (I paid $1 per box).Wish I had an amazing pen to go with this stuff - instead I ended up throwing pencils in the boxes so the kids would have something to write with.

We received these pens...however, the marker part of EVERY decoder pen didn't work. They were completely dried out! They were to be gag gifts for Christmas so unfortunately that part is now ruined! VERY DISSAPOINTED
