I want to give a fair review on this so the review will be long, sorry. In my case, I was ONLY getting this for the look. I thought it would look great on my Redcat Hauler. So, here is where I ran into problems. #1, mounting is very difficult due to a very tight tolerance on the motor side of the winch. So, I still have not mounted it. I will probably go another route because of the mounting difficulty and because of issue #2. My winch just does not work. I did not plan to use it anyway, it was all for looks only, but come on, atleast work a little. I thought it would be an issue with the really poorly designed wire harness. I did attempt to use the included wiring harness and remote with zero sucess. So, I bypassed that and ran a plug from the reciever to to winch itself. Still nothing. I have 3.7 volts going to the motor itself when toggled, so I know my reciever and radio are properly functioning. Also, I can run several of my other winches perfectly through this same radio/reciever/channel. The motor itself tests bad. Maybe I will fix this winch some day, and still use it for something, because it does look good. Also, the remote for this unit looks and feels nice, I will probably mess with reprogramming it to run one of my other winches. Last, will I recommend this product, or even purchase another one. Absolutely NO.

did not come with any intructions to wire it up, Has instructions to pair the remote, altho with no way to connect it up to power or at least directions. I cannot test it. Made the mistake of ordering way in advance of my need for it so it is too late to return it!

I like this winch it's compact and strong only gave 4 stars because the bottom plate has to be removed just to mount & and the wires fall off easily
