Mine arrived kind of dirty and dull bare steel. Not a nice shiny black like the ad pictures. They look very durable and will be under the truck getting dirty so I am OK with it. Nice upgraded metal wire retainer around the joint pin, better than the original Traxxas o-ring retainer on the plastic driveshafts.

The only thing I’ve changed about my trx4m high trail was upgrade the shocks. Not sure if this made the drive shaft not fit but the front shaft is much too short. There’s about 1 mm of connection between the links making it fall apart before you can even connect the battery and try to drive it.The rear drive shaft fits as expected.

The style drive shaft was not what the picture advertised. Drive shafts are not keyed putting all the stress on the screw. So you have a build that's heavy or uses a brushless motor it will likely fail often. And front drive shaft was unable to phase but no binding with my application.
