linkage went bad on passenger side and now you have to pay a small fortune for a flawed part. all components are plastic . I should have listened to the negative reviews.

AMP Powersteps “0” stars for me.AMP Research customer service. Steps crooked on install only need idler linkage and OEM stated minimum 6-8 wk lead time, NO guarantee on that time frame parts are custom made for vehicle and didn’t purchase from them from OEM (AMP Research) , purchased through AMAZON, AMAZON will have to help you.Now let’s talk AMAZON. Only thing they offer is 20% refund or full refund returning the item. Like this is hard wired in to vehicle, I have to remove all cables, lights, motors it’s a 4 hour job to install and then to only reinstall again, you have my card number, give14 day to return or I’m charged full amount, NO, partial refund or return will be credited when itemsIs returned. Asked to offer the sale price not full price it is today which is $700.00 MORE than sale price, only thing I was told when I said let’s get supervisors is, “Supervisors will tell you the same thing I’m telling you.” Well let me tell you AMAZON, your suppliers selling high dollar junk and it is aweful to treat customers this way when we spend what we do. I totally get there are people out there that will take advantage for 2nd set of steps, I’m only asking for the 1 part NOT the whole assy.My advice to those out there, spend the extra $$ from the OEM, they will help you much more than where I am with a purchase over a $1k.

The install is the most challenging part, but it's doable. I'm not the most mechanically technical person and I followed the steps slowly and gave myself plenty of time and got it done probably 8 hours with taking breaks and also going to lunch. Most people could get this done in a few hours for sure.Looks 100% sexy!Quality 100%!! Would highly recommend to anyone with a truck.

Put these on a 2018 Tundra. Wiring colors in the printed install guide where wrong for 2018 Tundra. There is another review on this product that tells you the correct door pin wires. They operate as expected and seem to be made really well. Install was pretty easy, I would suggest running the wiring from the battery and leave it loose to start. Install the rails and connect wires, then pull he slack out of the wiring up into the engine compartment. Then secure wiring with zip ties. Also, drill holes and mount the LEDs before installing foot rail.

I installed these steps in my drive way. It would have been easier if the truck had been on a lift so I could have walked under it instead of crawled under it. Many times. The wiring was the hard part. Bolting the steps on was relatively easy. The instructions called for installing the control box, then plugging in the wiring harness. But, because of tight access, I couldn't plug the harness into the controller when it was installed. So, I had to remove it. Even with it removed, it was very difficult to make the connection. I had to use my work bench vise, to hold the controller, in order to generate enough force to compress the gasket between the controller and harness plug before the plug would lock into place. Access was also difficult in other places; that is you needed two hands in a space where only one hand would fit. This happened at the controller, plugging in the wiring harness; at the motor cover with the plastic rivets; and splicing the light pig tails into the wiring harness at the steps. The wires leading to the back step lights on both sides were longer than needed, the wires leading to the front lights were a little too short. I had to splice extra wire on the passenger side front light. The instructions that came with the power step were for model years 2008 through 2015. Unfortunately, they didn't accurately show the pins and wires my 2010, or any other year, for that matter. The illustrations were too small to see what was what, and a critical arrow supposedly pointing to the proper wire, was pointing into space. Splicing the step wires into the truck wiring is important, so it needs to be done correctly. I could have called for help, which may have been the intention, but instead, I down-loaded an alternate set of instructions that covered fewer model years, but had better pictures, and a properly placed arrow. The wiring turned out ok. The steps have to be installed a little far back from the front of the truck to accommodate Tundra's curves in the stowed position. The steps are completely functional, but a little awkward-looking when parked/stowed. My truck is white, the steps are black, so it is probably more noticeable on my truck than it would be on a darker truck. It would be nice if the steps were contoured to fit the truck's curves so they could be installed a little further towards the front. Or, maybe auxiliary molding made available as part of the step kit, or sold separately, to cover the space between the front of the step and the wheel well since the step cannot be installed all the way forward. The steps are long enough for the crew cab, so are too long for double cab, which is a shorter truck. The instructions call for cutting 15.5” from each step when installing them on the double cab. I opted not to shorten them so I could stand on the extra length to reach into the truck bed. All in all, I like the steps a lot. The components seem to be high quality. They operate as they are supposed to; the lights work. They actually look pretty good, and make it a lot easier to get into the truck, which is why I bought them. I'd buy 'em again.

Impressive! Quality components. Precision machining and flawless finish on parts. Fit was tight. Completely hidden when stored. A few friends have even jumped back when they deployed because they didn't even see them at first. Included led lights light steps well at night and DO NOT look like cheap Chinese pieces. Quality wiring harness and easy installation. I have a 2015 Tundra Double Cab. They only mod I had to make was to the wiring harness. The instruction show it secured across the firewall. I like to hide all my wiring so I figured out a way to tuck the wiring under the plastic lip at the top of the fire wall. This extended the route from drivers side to passenger side by 24". After running the harness to the passenger side, I had to pull it back out and extend the wiring harness 24". No problem. Step rails come cut to fit a Crewmax so you will have to shorten them to fit the double cab. I actually left mine long and I am able to use them to stand on to reach into the front part of the bed. I would highly recommend these. You'll probably find cheaper, but you'll regret not buying these.
