Predator Pro. No surprises, rugged build, tight fit, nice appearance, thank you N-Fab.

Bought these for my 4Runner as my wife had trouble getting in the vehicle. These have solved my problem and they seem well built and look good too. Easy to install in about 30 minutes or so. Took longer to unpack and remove all the protective wrap than it did to install.

I was SO pleased with these that I was moved to write a review, which I seldom do.I just had to say that I have not been so happy with any purchase I've made in a long time!I searched for a LONG time because I grew up in the off-road world of ATVs, Dune Buggies, Motocross, 4x4s, etc...but I've never liked the "nerf" tubes look. These were exactly what I wanted for my new 2021 4Runner.These things are girthy! Very solid, heavy-duty construction and no problem putting them on in my driveway, in probably less than an hour total. Bravo, guys...Excellent product!

Short version: Nice step barsThe Details: I bought these for a 2018 Toyota 4Runner SR5, which did not come with any steps or nerf bars. These arrived in a long box, which appeared in great shape, and the bars were wrapped in foam inside. All hardware was included, nothing missing. Install was easy and straight-forward (grab your socket wrench and a buddy to help hold the bar up), and only took an hour at most. It took a minute to line up the brackets on the passenger side, but that may have been more user-error than anything because the fit of everything was great once the bolts and holes were lined up. Instructions are short and simple, really not much to the install. The hardest part was removing factory bolts, where I somehow busted a socket. Use a simple wrench, skip the ratchets and such, and they should loosen up fine. All in all, I'd buy these again no problem. Good job, N-Fab.

This item was just what I wanted. However, when I open the box which is very long and large, I noticed that the part is way too long for my vehicle. The product information when searching on Amazon says that it will fit my vehicle. It is not the case here. So double check!

If you would’ve told me that the worst part of this process was just getting them out of the box, I would’ve laughed!? But in all seriousness, N-Fab does a really good job of boxing these bars/steps solidly to protect them. After much research, I went with N-Fab for their styling and decent reviews. I further chose the Predator Pro bars for their non-tubular design, reducing the amount of welds as those seemed to be the biggest knock against N-Fab products. Granted, the decision to upgrade to the Predator bars was a $150 bump in cost, but I personally think they “fit” the body better. The finish/coating is textured and is a still bit glossy, and happened to match the color of my particular vehicle really nicely.Although these steps stick out a bit further than I was expecting (been used to hopping in without anything there for a year), they are also low enough to allow older parents and the shorter members of our family to get in much easier.Install was relatively simple and I had help holding the first bar in place, but figured out how to do the second one myself (hint - use the box they come in as leverage). Tool-wise, I used a 3/8”-drive ratchet and a torque wrench. An impact driver is nice to expedite the process, especially getting the forward set of Toyota factory 12mm bolts out of the rocker panels, but wasn’t necessary. The inside bolt on the mount nearest the front tires is at a bit of an awkward angle - I’d save that one for last when installing. Also, be sure to check the clearance to the back fender and that small rock guard just in front of the rear wheel well - not having the bar far enough forward could possibly pinch the end caps on the bar or give you an unsightly gap underneath the back door. Once all snugged-up, the tolerances were tight and the bars solidly in place. I also probably didn’t need the torque wrench as they were solidly affixed once I couldn’t manually ratchet the bolts anymore, but deep sockets or a 3” to 6” extension bar is a must-have here.Overall, I’m really glad I bought these as an after-market add-on (and glad I did the install myself) versus what the Toyota dealership wanted to charge me to add these when I bought the vehicle.UPDATE: After two winters in the harsh environment of Minnesota winters with road salt, the powder coat on the nose caps of both bars cracked and disintegrated, leaving the whitening and corroding aluminum or metal showing. I filed a warranty claim and some pictures, and true to their word on their warranty, N-Fab sent me two brand new bars…free of charge! Less than a half-hour or work and I have two great-looking step bars in my vehicle once again!

This review is for the PRT1458R-TX Predator Pro Steps. After researching steps for my 2014 Trail Edition 4Runner I decided on these steps since they were made from aluminum (rush proof) and appeared to fit tightly against the underbody of the vehicle. Plus I wanted something that was different from the typical rounded tube look.To my delight the hardest thing about installing these steps were unboxing and then collapsing the rather thick cardboard box that they were safely packed in for recycling. No exaggeration, it only took minutes to install manually with a socket and ratchet. Using a powered ratchet would be even faster. Holes aligned perfectly and did not require any finessing to get the bolts started and tightened. Being aluminum they are super light. I have high expectations that these steps will out live the 4runner.Note that the picture is not accurate. This did cause me to question if they would really fit my Trail edition 4runner. However, I took a leap of faith and ordered them anyway. The ones that came fit perfectly.

I did my research before I bought these. I saw that the biggest problem with the other brands was rust. These are aluminum so they will not rust. They are as good in quality as the OEM ones, but look a little better to me. Solid welds and fit up perfectly. I had them installed in 30 minutes.I paid more for these than other brands would have cost, but worth it! They look great on my 4Runner! Very happy with this purchase.
