This product is a little complicated to set up but once you figure it out it goes on smooth and fits well. The quality appears good and Iām happy with the product!

I would have given this product 5 stars if not for the provided hardware. The head of the socket bolt is only slightly larger than the hole the bolt goes through. If I were to tighten it the bolt head would surely press into the hole. Fortunately, I have a metal lathe and am able to fabricate sleeves to reduce the size of the hole. In addition, I purchased stainless steel washers. The slider looks to be very well made and I am sure it will function well with the additions I provided.Update: just received my second slider that I purchased for the left side. Still the same issue with the bolt head and no washer. There is only one 8mm bolt and this one is shorter than the first. These are not sold left and right. The nut is not a lock nut and no lock washer is included. Without the addition of washer and sleeves these would be useless. Too bad as the slider itself appears to be made very well.

I must admit, it looks a little bit like training wheels, but the security of knowing that I'm not going to absolutely tear up the bike if it drops is a good feeling. I've already softly laid the bike over and the skids seem to work well.UPDATE: When you put them on, use Locktite to secure them. One of the slider ends came off during a ride and HAONEL does not seem to offer replacement ends. I had to order a complete side to replace just the ends. Had to knock down the review to 3 stars just because of no replacement ends and its ability to come off. Plus the nut that attaches to the bike came off and my muffler was dangling as a result. Needs locknuts.

The screw that is in the slider itself is loose and to short to even screw into anything

This slider fits to the frame just behind the footpegs on my Honda CMX 1100. It has an adaptor plate to allow it to be fitted and comes with an assortment of bolt widths and lengths, none of which were the right length for my CMX 1100 (which is why I dropped one star). The bolt needed for the CMX is M8 50mm.The reviewer giving one star clearly didn't realise that the slider unscrews into 3 pieces for fitting to the frame and must be unscrewed for fitment. Some assembly instructions would have been handy - for example, the end piece has a strong spring, so that there is 'give' in the event of a fall. However, I was unsure how tight to screw down this end-cap; the more I do, the less 'give' there is, but the less I do, the more likely it will be to fall off in a crash. A torque setting would have been handy. I just had to guess.Very high quality machining and components. I hope to never find out how good it is in an actual crash, but it will give my legs some extra protection - it's not the bike I worry about in a crash!
