Didn't work. Device plugged into hdmi out of laptop. The power in was checked with power bank and laptop. Monitor out (USBC) was checked against two monitors and AR glasses. None of them worked. Even try a combination for iPad (with AV adapter and power bank for power supply). Perhaps I got a lemon and wished Amazon can send me another to try. Will give it another chance by ordering another.UPDATE: After buying a second one. The second worked as it should. Just don't know how reliable it will be given the bad experience with the first one. Would have loved to give 5 stars but can't because I wasted so much time trying the first one and also the hassle of returning the first one. Let's see if the seller can show some customer support and appreciation.Another UPDATE. The seller contacted me and offered a full refund without sending the defective unit back. I was able to simply dispose of it. Given it didn't work the first time, I would give the product a 4 star. It is a good value and worked for Viture Pro AR glasses and external USBC display. Hopefully it holds up with use.

My old laptop has a USB-C port that is pre-“display port” – only useful for universal serial bus porting. I acquired a TX/RX (transmit/receive) device that required a USB-C display port for the source video/sound. This converter produces 4K video/sound – check your receiving device for capability to receive. I plugged in a 4K TX/RX (transmit/receive) device that would send display port signals to an HDMI RX plugged into my TV. The TX/RX did not work on my old laptop USB-C but did detect the video/sound signal when plugged into this converter. I am pleased with this REBORN converter order.

The first one I received was DOA with no picture. Fortunately the replacement I received worked as it should. I tested the converter with a PS5 connected to a portable 17.3 inch 1440p display and it worked brilliantly. Color, picture quality, and sound were flawlessly transmitted through the USB C thunderbolt 5 cable I used. The maximum resolution, however, was locked to 1440p max because of the PS5 protocol, which unfortunately does not pass HDR at that resolution, but does allow 120hz. In contrast, a HDMI connection does allow 4k resolution to be recognized and passes HDR at 60hz, but also allows 120hz without HDR. Again, that's with the portable display I tested with. So on one hand you have a bulky (at most times) HDMI connector cable with a large connector interface versus a relatively compact connector cable that can have more practical uses. The converter is great, and there aren't many on the market. Trust me, I was searching high and low for one and jumped on this to review. A great value and use case scenario. I just wish it also came with a dongle to keep it away from the PS5 heat exhaust, but I haven't had an issue.

I did not know what to expect of a device like this, whether it would work for my needs with a portable monitor. The portable monitor requires USB-C not just for video feed, but also for its power supply. I was pleased that it did both power the monitor and provide a plug and play automatic feed. The picture quality was good and the device overall is easy to use. It came with a USB connecting cord to supplement the power, so it would require having an HDMI and USB port fairly close to each other.

This adapter is ables to take an HDMI signal, inject it with additional power via the 5v input, and send out a USB-C display signal. It's simple in its functionality and it does it well.I've used this now to get signal going from an single board computer to a portable monitor that takes in USB-C video in, and it's able to power my monitor and display video perfectly well via that single cable. However, the adapter doesn't NEED the extra power to run the conversion (perhaps with some lower powered HDMI devices), and it's capable of outputting USB-C video fine without it (see attached picture).Not much more to say here, I let it run for a few hours and it was only warm after use. The price is high for what it does, I'd recommend waiting for a decent sale and get this under $20.I guess the other point to note is that it is HDMI to USB-C, so be sure to read what you're getting. Don't be like that confused reviewer who rated based off of misunderstanding the product.
