ReciProMate is a Saw Guide used to turn a Reciprocating Saw into a precision cutting Saw. It has two ways to attach to the 4x4, 4x6 being cut. It can be bolted on using a wrench or rachet, or screwed on for attachment. ReciProMate is the solution to the problem of cutting 4x4 posts tops, on level and on slopes with varying gradients in new posts, or existing fences and deck posts. The Saw Guide provides cutting from 0 to 45 degrees on 4x4 posts, depending on what angle is chosen on level or sloped grounds. ReciProMate makes fence and deck building easier, faster, and safer, and is a very unique Saw Guide to make precision cuts through 4x4 4x6 posts. In building new fences/decks just set posts, then snap a line from end post to end post across all posts to be cut with a caulk line, attach saw guide and make the cuts. For use also with existing fences/decks that need the post tops trimmed to finished desired height and angle. A guide to cutting posts also for panel fence installations. Step by Step Instructions with pictures are found on back of the packaging on how to use the Reciprocating Saw Guide. The Guide is expandable using the screwed on method, by just using longer Reciprocating saw blades, or using longer bolts[not included]

I was redesigning an existing backyard deck. Had to cut 20" off of (11) 4"x4" posts. Getting a clean cut and level was critical. Using a circular saw would required multiple cuts on each post. Using a reciprocating saw 'freehand' would be challenging. For the money I thought why order a 'ReciProMate'. Soooo glad it did. All 11 cuts came out perfect and ready to a 2"x12" cap or seat bench. Looks fantastic. Jigs are simple but when done correctly can really simplify repetitive jobs like this one!!!

First post I did I just thought I set it up wrong and it took a very long time to tighten and level it for my cut. Post was a good 1/8" off from being level. I did 3 more and every one of them came out the same. Would not recommend this tool. I will be using 2x4s screwed to the post to make cuts on the remaining ones and the ones that are not level, I'll have to take time to sand them down even. Wish I could get my money back but it's past the return date

This is a great solution for topping posts. My only complaint is that the slot for cutting is a bit too wide. This allows the reciprocating saw blade to flex during the cut and the result is a very slightly bowed top. A couple of millimeters off of the slot width and it would be perfect imo. The material is otherwise very high quality and is definitely going to last longer than I will.

I put a sail shade to cover my hot tub and wanted to make these post look like the posts on my fence that my neighbor did. I was having trouble trying to figure out how to do it. Didn't really want to use a saw because it would only cut half of the post. Found this and it worked great with a saw saw! Measured where I wanted to do the cuts, screwed the bracket to the post and got to cutting!

I was able to create a simple jig to make sure my cut line was at the right spot, and flawlessly cut 28 posts on my deck during a rehab. 28 posts. Zero mistakes. I've cut exactly one post before in my life using a circular saw and it was for a fence that the height didn't really need to be perfect, and I still hated it. This was 1000% safer and perfect results.

I love this tool. Makes cutting angled post tops super easy. However, the threads on the carriage bolts didn't last much past 10 posts and Home Depot's 1/4 carriage bolts are thicker than what this tool came with. So, I realized this is from Canada and those bolts are 6mm in diameter and 120mm in length. So I filed the square openings to fit a 1/4 carriage bolt from HD. I haven't needed to use the screws. I just tightened the carriage bolts down hard, hence why the threads got destroyed, I guess. I'm a bit confused by the reviewers who have sawed through the tool or think it is too complicated to set up. It's very simple to use and as long as you are following the path and not intentionally sawing into the metal with a metal cutting blade, then I think you should be fine...

This guide works very well when combined with : 11mm deep socket on impact driver9" Diablo pruning blade on reciprocating sawSmall bubble level to square it on the postThe quick cutting of the massive teeth on the diablo blade also help prevent the blade from cutting the guide if you are holding the saw straight (other reviews complained about this so I tried the pruning blade hoping it would be less prone to cutting the metal and it worked like a charm!) The impact driver allowed lightning fast and aggressive tightening and release after the cut was made. I highly recommend this guide for cutting posts using the tools listed above to make it a quick and easy process!
