Difficult to get on but not impossible. However, once on (following the directions) one of the two caps will not stay closed.

I got this 2-pack of flip-up red dot lens caps for my Romeo5 (28mm lips), and they are a perfect addition to my AR-15 build. They fit securely, protect my optic, and have a clean, low-profile look that matches my setup well.Installation was a bit tight at first, but using hot water to soften the mounting ring helped a lot. Once in place, they stay put with no shifting. The spring-loaded flip-up design works smoothly, snapping open quickly and staying up without getting in the way.I really like the transparent lens feature, which allows me to use my red dot sight even when the covers are closed. This is especially useful in dusty or rainy conditions. The build quality feels solid, made from durable materials with a matte black finish that blends well with my rifle. The flip-up action was a little stiff at first, but it loosened up nicely after a few uses.Overall, these lens covers offer great protection, easy access, and a sleek look, making them a great addition to my AR-15 setup. Definitely worth it!

got this covers to see if they would fit any of my optics but it didn't. on some they were too big and on others they were too tight. for the item itself it looks good and should provide protection if it happens to fit your optic. I could not make it work for me. I will not take stars off from this review because that was my mistake and honestly I knew there was a chance they might not fit my scopes. on its own merits these are good scope covers.

For the life of me, it's impossible to get these on my Romeo 5! I tried everything I could according to the video directions without success and in the end, just kept damaging and ruining the covers altogether. I just don't trust it so it's going straight to the junk file.

These flip caps are probably about 3.5 stars, which I rounded down to 3. The fit is too tight due to poor material choice. It's made of a mostly hard plastic, when it should be made of a more pliable plastic / rubber.I tried pushing it on as-is. Then I tried to heat it in warm water. Finally, I had to heat it up with, literally, boiling water. Then smash it on a pray that it fit. When I finally got it on, I made the mistake of flipping up the cap. This caused the cap to cool faster than the rim. When I tried to flip the cap back down, it was too small. So...I reheated and tried again. Somewhere in between the boiling water, pressing, pushing, and swearing, one of the plastic lenses broke into two pieces.Eventually, I got one cap in place and left the cap down. After a long wait, I was able to flip it up with a bit of extra effort. I can snap it back down, again with a bit of extra effort. However, there is about a 50/50 chance of whether the plastic lens is going to go flying out of the housing when I flip it up.These are a far cry from the push button, spring loaded flip caps on a rifle scope. But I gave them 3 stars because they are relatively cheap. I would prefer to pay more for a better product.

Does what it says but it's challenging to fit it to a Romeo 5 red dot. Nice quality plastic. Lenses are clear. Flip up works good and retains lenses in the upright position firmly. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is that it is very difficult to fit it to the Romeo 5 red dot. The instructions recommend heating the unit and I did so with trepidation that I might ruin it. I finally used a hair dryer to warm the parts and a plastic mallet to knock in onto the red dot. It fits tightly but I'm not sure that I would want to do that to another scope of mine. Wish there was an easier way to get a secure fit.

It was very satisfying to finally get these caps onto my Romeo5 after a bit of a struggle because they're such a tight fit. That's not a bad thing since there is such a small lip on the inside ring, it has to be tight for the cap to stay on and once it's on, it doesn't move without a lot of force. I've heard of people gluing such caps on, but to be honest I don't think there is space for any glue and the caps are plenty tight to not move when popping them up or down. They are see-through, which is nice in a pinch, though the plastic does give a slight distoration. I spend a lot of time in some dusty conditions, so these are much better than the standard bikini covers that aren't as quick to go on and off. Just be prepared for a bit of a fight to get them on, though it is satisfying when they finally pop into place and feel very secure. I did also try these on a sepperate Romeo5XDR, which didn't work. That's not a negative against this product since it's stated it's for the standard Romeo5 without the cone-shaped rim, but I wanted to point that out in case anybody was looking for flip-up covers for an XDR (I'm still on the hunt for a good pair, but fear that may be a lost cause without glue). For a standard Romeo5, these fit great and stay secure.

They mounted very easy and are on for good. Very solid. Keep the dust out very well. Nice thick plastic. You don't have to open them in order to use them. Very nice
