After doing my whole yard I realized I didn't even go through half a 20 gallon propane tank using the 3-in red model that's about $20 to fill up a whole entire propane tank in order to pay off this handle I would have to go over my entire yard for multiple years that being said I definitely recommend this handle not only does it save some gas but it makes it so you don't have to turn off your whole entire torch if you just want to put it down for a minute I also do not have to adjust the gas settings at all I attach both valves I leave one on the setting how I want it that's dialed in and I turn the other completely off when I want to use it I turn one completely on and do not touch the other this will leave it at the exact setting you left it last time every time this is an investment for years of service on your property it would be much cheaper to spray some toxic chemicals for the year but over the next few years this tool will far out pay itself I will more than likely never be using chemicals again

Pros: it was an easy swap from turn valve to trigger squeeze valve on a cheaper torch effectively making it a more expensive torch. It cuts the fuel output way back to only pilot light level while you are moving around and when you squeeze the lever poof out comes a rip roaring flame. Saves money by saving fuel and only burning it at full force when you need it.Cons: If I had to find a con. The lever handle itself is solid but the lever is a bit flimsy and I can see it potentially snapping off eventually if care is not taken , but with a 500,000 BTU flame throwing torch I hope you are taking care. So not really a con in my book.

Easy to use. Does the job. We have a long gravel driveway. Weeds are constantly coming up. I hated to use so much herbicide. This flame weeder is effective, safe and fun to use. The 500,000 btu is so much better than the first one I bought which was 24,000 btu.

I got this at the same time I ordered a Red Dragon VT 2-23 weed dragon. I know the Red Dragon VT 2-23 is only $10 bucks more than this $45 squeeze valve, but . . .Just watch the reviews and these weed flame throwers all work pretty well, but can use a bunch of LP gas while your moving from weed area to weed area. This squeeze valve assembly allows you to adjust down the flame to a pilot flame and the pull the trigger and blast. After the first section I cleared, I learned that you don't need to burn the weed to oblivion. Scorch it well and it will die. Maybe if you hit it harder the heat will kill some of the root. Dunno. Seems to do a good job. You may be able to do without it, but at $25 bucks a tank for LP gas, it will pay for itself pretty quickly.By the way it is well made and easy to install on your burner. Follow the instructions. Make sure to use plumber tape on all connections and yes them all for leaks with soapy water before you light 'er up.

The 'V-880 PH-1' Squeeze Valve kit is WELL WORTH it's price! You light it and set the rotary (needle valve) to a small Pilot Flame then just open the Squeeze Valve as much as you need. I found this really nice to "singe" weeds and grass with a quick burst of flame, when near or against things you don't want to burn like wooden fences etc. Also having shorter arms, I appreciate the Squeeze Valves added length to the torch rod. No more stooping over. Last but not least, as with Flame Engineers Inc. other products, this item is manufactured in the USA!

I bought this with the Red Dragon Weed Torch and I'm glad I did. The basic weed torch has a needle valve that works well, but the flame is set on whatever you set it at all the time. If your burning weeds you generally want it at the highest level. This means that with the needle valve, it's going full blast the whole time. When you buy the Squeeze valve you have the ability to "fluctuate" the strength of the flame as you need it. This means as your walking from one part of your yard with no weeds to a part that needs weed control you let off the handle and it's at minimal flame. What does this mean? It means that your not wasting propane because it's not going "full blast" all the time. The box says it will pay itself off in a certain amount of time. (I can't remember what that time is). I agree with them. Overall it's a more manageable way to destroy your weeds with less cost. I couldn't imagine buying (any Dragon) torch without this device to control the flame throughout the process. I highly recommend this!

I was hesitant to buy this product (in addition to the dolly) since it involves a tank full of propane and a flame. But I learned how to safely use it and now I just burn up the weeks instead of giving myself back and knee pain from pulling weeds. No pesticides are used on my property, but I was getting close to giving in when I decided to give this a try. It works great for keeping the driveway, the paths, and the yard weed free. I still have to weed the beds, but 75% of my weeding area is now done by burning them away before they set seed. Eventually I hope that this method will reduce the number of weeds.

Allows a small pilot flame to burn continuously while squeezing lever creates a blow torch effect. Very controlled flame and very hot. Need to be careful when weeding near plantings.
