Great for daily use, the Redecker Goat Hair/Natural Pig Bristle Book Brush with Oiled Pearwood Handle carefully cleans your favorite novels, catalogs and magazines and keeps dust at bay. Perfectly suited for sensitive spines and tops, strong outer pig bristles remove dirt from the backs of books while ultra-soft underlying goat hair collects dust. The all-natural oiled pearwood handle is beautiful and durable and comes with a leather hanging strap for convenient storage. Brush measures 10-1/2" long. For maintenance, clean bristles with a mild soap and water solution and towel blot to remove excess moisture. Air dry with bristles facing down to prevent damage to wooden handle. Made in Germany.
Derived from the Chinese long-haired goat, goat hair bristles are by far the softest material in the Redecker line of brushes. Its ultra-supple and dense hair is used in dusting brushes, cosmetic brushes, and even in hairbrushes for babies. Before being strung into the brush head, both the pig bristle and goat hair is cleaned, scoured and combed in a multi-stage process. This finishing treatment ensures the utmost quality and optimizes the benefits of natural bristles.

Books is my big problem. I get the vacuum out and the brush quickly goes into the crevasses and feeds all the dust into the vacuum. I can literally “walk” along any bookshelf and do my 3,000 books at a terrific speed. Then….it’s so fun I walk around the house…. Dusting stuff. When you apply the brush, it does NOT knock things over. I already gave one as a gift!!! The little vacuum brushes…. Yeah, they need to design one for book shelves. Trust me, I own all of them and NOTHING works.

先端の山羊毛はコシがあり、岩波文庫や新潮文庫などの「フランス装」or「アンカット」本の天に溜まったホコリもしっかり掻き出してくれる。値段はそれなりに高いけれども、書物をたいせつにする人ならば是非手に入れるべきだろう。

This is a well-designed product which is excellent at cleaning the dust from the covers and pages of books. The bristles are soft, so they pick up dust without causing damage.
