I use this for parties. The screws that hold the legs on are too long, and they bottom out in the hole drilled in the cast aluminum housing. Either that or the stamped sheet metal legs are too thin. One way or another, the screws do not tightly grab onto the legs, the fit is loose and cannot be tightened. Obviously not right. This can make it challenging to secure the light especially if you want it in a semi-portable configuration. However, the light itself works fine.

I did a whole black light project on my garage. And this is the center piece as far as producing the light. Very high powered subtle and does an incredible job lighting up anything with the uv reactor.

This light puts out a lot of glow power. The number of lights and mirrors inside the light really send the UV around the room. I appreciate that it is waterproof and could be used outside for pool parties and Halloween parties, but I didn't try it outdoors. Inside, I'm impressed. It's made of aluminum and tempered glass - it feels super solid, but it's not heavy. In my pictures, I set random fluorescent things from around my house (bodypaint, thread, laces, a dress...) to show the brightness of color. These colors stay bright, even from across the room. I liked what it did to my shoes and socks too. This light comes with a mount which is good for two reasons:One: I can angle it to project the way I want and it will stay steady. Two: the back of the light gets pretty warm, and I want good air circulation around it.Overall, I'm happy with this light. It's better than any I've tried so far.

I wish we had these when I was a kid, because they're so much better than the fluorescent blacklight tubes. This puts out a lot of UV or blacklight and makes things fluoresce well. However, the wavelength is in 385-400 nm, which is very near the bottom of the visible spectrum. What this means in terms of a blacklight is there is a lot of visible violet light that can be seen. This unit is rated at 120 watts, and I measured 80 watts on the meter. I have another UV LED light rated for 100W, which puts out 66 watts on the meter. When comparing the two, this 120W light does put out more UV; the neon colored test sheets glow brighter. It also puts out a lot of heat. After running for about 30 minutes, the heat sink fins on the back were very toasty. Measuring with a laser thermometer, it was over 140˚. It didn't seem too hot to touch, but I'd be careful where you put this when using it.Would I buy it again or recommend this to friend: Yes.

So overall I like this black light. We wanted one for our deck and this definitely lights up the entire deck. My only concern/worry was that multiple times when I would toggle the switch to on, I would hear arcing (included with the black light flashing and then sometimes going off). A couple switches back and forth would get it to stably connect so I just left it in the on position and won't use the switch at all (hence the minus 1 star). So, nice that there is a switch...but a failure and a concern if it doesn't work well. I may just cut it out completely or replace it with a much better one. Nice light and light enclosure, cheap switch (or at the very least, poor quality control on the switch).Note...my camera doesn't do justice in replicating the color and effect of the black light. So my pics are no lights, porch lights and then just the black light. It is at least obvious that the black light has enough power to light up the entire deck which is what we wanted. If you buy this immediately check the switch...other than that, the rest is great.

So the lights seem great - very bright and light. But the screws provided to attach the mounting brackets, they wont go in far enough to hold the brackets tightly, like not even close. The stop 1/4 inch too soon so you cant use the brackets which, unfortunately, makes them worthless.
