No instructions came for use. But if test with about 3” or less between remote and tester it will display the frequency of device/button. Just plug in the cable and connect to. 9V battery and it is ready for use.

Works very well but I didn't think the lack of an internal mounted battery with an on/off switch would be a problem. It isn't a problem, more of an annoyance. I just keep the battery in the bag with the device and wire harness.

Purchased this product to diagnose the keyless entry not working on my car. The key fob is sealed and wanted to test to see if the fob was the culprit. Using this product, it showed that the key fob is transmitting; now onto diagnosing what's wrong in the car!

I had hoped to use this inexpensive tester to determine which of my TPMS (tire press monitoring system) sensor/transmitter was inop . It could be a spent battery or malfunctioning sensor (sending unit) creating the problem. This little testing unit measures frequencies that are transmitted by most/all sensors, i.e. 315mhz or 433mhz. The tester functioned well to test my garage opener remote but failed to display any readout for the tire sensor. My guess is the sensitivity of the receiver is not sufficient to receive any signal through the tire/wheel, as the units designed for that task. But, so far, the tester works well for its intended task. The construction of the PCB is tidy and the robots did a good job soldering. The off-board 9v supply seems a bit tacky but I actually like that it makes removing for storage so much easier - a rubber band makes a handy battery holder while in use. I would like to have an onboard beeper or LED to denote a signal received, for which I would pay more, but, oh well. I'll update if things change.
