This was a waste of time. The part is a cheaply 3d printed piece of plastic that broke on the first use. Now I have a toilet that is not working and I have to return the plastic junk. Very unhappy with the product.

The top had to be drilled out in order to get the screw in place. The other end notches were too tight of a fit to slide over the toilet base and pressure from putting in the screw pushed the toilet flapper into the toilet base so I had to get a piece of wood to push it back in place and hold pressure to get the screw started. Then the new shaft broke after a week of use. I think I’d rather get a new toilet than mess with this repair again. The next toilet will not be a Dometic, for sure.

I used a 5/8 drill bit and had to enlarge the hole for the screw. All in all, it works so far.Glad someone came up with this idea.

This will work as long as you drill out the center hole so the small screw will fit inside the shaft. The hole needs to be big enough for your screw driver or nut driver to fit.
