This replaces a dead battery and fits perfectly. Now we can use the GPS again.Revised after 2 months: This battery now fails to hold a charge long enough to be useful. We are ordering another elsewhere.

to remove the back of the case you need a torx bit size T4. then a small flat headed screwdriver will help you to pry the case apart. be careful not to stick the srewdriver in too far. there are plastic clips built into the back cover that pull apart as the back of the case is pulled off. the motherboard uses size T4 screws also. you can watch a video online that will walk you through the process. note that in the owners manual the original battery was rated at one hour of stand alone use for the garmin. its a big screen to run for a small battery, so it has limited duration before it needs a recharge. use a plug in adapter in your car and all is well. good battery.

works very well in my Garmin Drive Assist 51, exact size as the OEM (original), plugs in perfectly...and it came with a 3M double sided adhesive already attached to the battery. If you need to replace the battery in your Garmin Drive Assist 51, this will fit like a charm from the get go. Installed in December 2024.

My Garmin is a number of years old and the battery would not hold a charge.I purchased this battery and looked at the video to install it.After i installed the new battery now it holds a charge and my Garmin can be used without being plugged in to a power source constantly.

Even though the battery came from China, which I do not like, it solved the issue with the GPS! Thank you Amazon for the fast delivery! Amazon really needs to think about taking over the Postal for this country!!!!
