I started to have problems with my central vacuum many months ago. It would cut out and stop during vacuuming. Initially I thought it was an electrical short. I got advice that the cannister had to be cleaned more frequently - but I was cleaning it every time I vacuumed and it did not fix the problem. It got to the point I was considering a portable vacuum and forgetting about the central vacuum. It would start and then stop. In rereading the manual it suggested replacing the filter every 6-8 months, but I had been using the same filter for 14 years. It turns out that there is a switch that is held in the on position by the core of this filter. If it gets too worn the vacuum shuts off. When I put this in place - everything runs fine.

Fits my Electrolux central vacuum almost perfectly, also has a cylinder cutout in the middle, presumably to fit other models. I did find it was slightly longer than the OEM, but a trip to the hardware store and I made the screw-in retainer post slightly longer. Upon cleaning, this trapped everything on the outside, the inner portion was clean. It also has "pleats" unlike the OEM, presumably allowing more airflow for a longer time. I can't seem to locate my OEM one to swap out while this one dries, so I'm about to buy another one! I do recommend this filter assuming it fits your model.

The original filter lost it rigidity and the safety switch prevented the machine from running. I found this as a replacement and not only did it work perfectly ht has far more suction than before it was a very fair price too. I will order another so that they can be rinsed and have plenty of time to drive after washing. The filter was delivered very quickly as well.

Once it arrived I compared the new filter to the one I was replacing. It is made of the same quality of material that the original filter is made of and fit my Electrolux Aerus central vacuum perfectly. Happy with the purchase.

Looks just like the original filter, with one exception. The original filter has a cut out section where the plastic holder is recessed into the filter. The replacement filter does not have that section removed. I initially thought I'd cut that recess hole myself, then decided to try it as is. The filter seems to be working just fine, so I don't think it's a problem.

I already have one and it is wonderful, But I paid a lot more for it when I bought it from the dealer. I always like to have a backup filter just in case something gets in it that you can't get out. The bumps really help the airflow and give the filter a lot of extra surface area to trap in the dust and dirt.I enjoy giving reviews, especially for products that I have bought before and love to find again at a really good price.
