This leash is much more comfortable to use than my current retractable leash (that's tearing). My current leash is an expensive one, that is heavy duty, but also heavy in my hands. This leash was much much lighter and ergonomically better for my hands. I noticed it being much more comfortable to use. It took a little getting use to the buttons, but they work well once I got the hang of it. So for a smaller dog I would give this a 5 star. I have a 13 pound chihuahua schnauzer mix and for him this leash is a dream. Here's my problem, I also have a 26 pound pit bull puppy that I walked with this leash and I had trouble using the buttons. She keeps pulling and when there is a lot of tension on the leash it gets in a locked mode and I can't change it (to pull up the slack) until she releases some tension. So this is a great comfortable leash for a small to medium, or well mannered larger dog.

This is the first retractable leash I’ve ever used, and while it’s taken some getting used to, I’m in love! I now have 2 — one for each dog. (Side note, it’s a tiny bit confusing using one in each hand; it sort of feels like rubbing your belly and patting your head at the same time haha. Maybe I’m just not coordinated! Even with that, though, I liked it enough to buy a second one.)The lock button is easy to use and the leash glides smoothly. Pushing the button can lock the length of the leash in place, and it does a good job at stopping exactly when you need it to. I will say, though, that if you pull REALLY hard on it, you can see the leash wanting to continue extending. It doesn’t, but there’s a little wiggle there. I’m only bringing this up because I have puppies now (13 weeks old). They’re only a fraction of the size they will be, and that may be something I have to keep an eye on as they grow. I ended up going for the medium, not really understanding what the difference was between sizing, and I’m wondering if sizing up to the large would have had a stronger or thicker leash.Either way, this leash work beautifully for now and I really do love how it retracts. The price is good and there’s more leash-length than I’ll probably ever use!

Had a very small leash that was 5 or so feet long so walking my dog was a hassle since they like to run around but couldn’t. Decided to get this retractable leash to help solve that problem, now my dog has more freedom to wander around as they walk. The leash is 16 foot long which when fully extended isn’t as long as you would think but it’s definetly better then 5 foot. When the leash is fully extended it jerks to a stop pretty quick so it can come out of your hands if your not prepared and if you have a big dog, I have a 8 pound small dog that can still pull with some force. When needing to have both hands free it’s a little tricky since you can’t tuck the leash into your wrist so i have to put leash down and step onto it to prevent dog from running away, if leash gets away from you it is difficult to get it back because the leash will retract as it runs away. The leash does come with a shoulder strap that I haven’t used since I don’t walk for too long. The foldable water bowl comes with a clip and is a square but no way to keep it folded up unless it’s in your pocket or strapped together. Comes with pretty normal potty bags.

We generally like this leash, but the build quality and ergonomics could be better. The leash itself is thin but plenty strong enough for larger dogs; we've had no issues with the locking feature either. My largest complaint is that as someone with larger hands the handle can feel a bit small and uncomfortable. The other con is that the locking mechanism itself is relatively loose inside the leash. It works perfectly fine, but as you walk you can hear stuff clunking around inside of the leash.

This retractable dog leash is well made and sturdy. The leash itself does not get tangled up and it effortlessly retracts. The pause and lock features on the leash work well. In person, the leash looks just like the photos. I ordered the large leash and the black handheld part and enclosed storage part of the leash as a whole are quite large. Definitely a leash you'd want to use for a large dog and not a small dog. For large dogs the large size leash works great and I experienced no problems with it! I tried using the large leash on my six pound yorkie puppy and she was barely able to pull the leash (the retraction was stronger than she is). Be sure to order the leash size that is appropriate for your dog. The adjustable shoulder strap is a great optional feature! If you have a big strong dog or if you've dropped your dog's leash before, the shoulder strap is a great backup safety feature to have. My husband has dropped our dog's leash multiple times while running, multitasking on his phone, etc so the shoulder strap keeps our dog from possibly running away if the leash gets dropped. The shoulder strap is also nice if your hands are full like carrying a phone, water bottle, or having to pick up dog poop on a walk, this shoulder strap makes it super easy to let go of the leash to have a free hand. The shoulder strap is comfortable and not even noticeable when wearing it. I appreciate the roll of poop bags this leash comes with. The collapsible water bowl with a carabiner attached is handy but the bowl isn't super sturdy. Overall, this leash set is great and should last a long time.
