Purchased for use in our school to prevent visitors from wandering the halls. Appears to be of good quality. It was easily mounted to the wall with the provided hardware. Only concern is that the pull out end is plastic. I wonder how long it will hold up to being opened and closed repeatedly every day.

We needed to section off part of our hallway in a commercial building as a visual aid to remind people not to enter during certain hours. It was long and sturdy enough to hold up to that. 2 months in and it's still working well.

I purchased these retractable barriers as a safety step to keep the young kids out of our church balcony after services. A BIG stress relief! The edge of the balcony is at adult knee height and a 30 foot drop onto the pews below. Having young kids even near that edge drove me to push for these to be installed. The bright red barrier has stopped the kids in their tracks, and after explaining why, all have stayed away. When they are retracted, they are all but invisible against the dark woodwork.

Not durable at all. We went through 6 of these for a concession stand. They all broke within 6-7 months. I would not buy these again.

Easy to install and smooth operation. My elderly mother wanted a visual barrier for the top of the stairs so that she wouldn't wander down them inadvertently. My dad installed this within 10 minutes with the canister on the wooden newel post and the and anchor on the opposite wall. It looks good and does the job we needed it to. The bright red belt is highly visible.

Works great to direct pedestrian traffic. Useful in limiting access to certain areas of our office. Obviously it's not a security device, but it helps guide people to the right areas, and discourages access to off limits areas. Good quality and you get what you pay for. Sure is better than ropes or ribbons.

I use this wall barrier to keep my 91 year old mother who has severe dementia from wandering out to the living room at night, where it is dark and usually colder than her bedroom. I mounted it across from the bathroom at the end of a hall so that she can get to the bathroom at night, but not wander away from there. I considered getting the wooden type that keeps kids and dogs out of an area, but Mom sees the barrier, and that's enough. She's too old to go under it without falling down. And, to her, it's like a sign telling her to go back to bed. I put it up at night, and take it down in the morning. You can't even see it coming from the living room down the hall because it's mounted on each side behind load-bearing parts of the hall walls. This is simple, fast, and much cheaper than the wood accordion type.
