For the tl;dr crowd, at $20, these are an insane value in my opinion. I've bought a lot of cheap keyboards and at least 5 keycap sets, and none of them really come close to the wall thickness, quality, variety, and extras that these come with. The only open question for now is durability and how they hold up over time, but since these are already starting from a better point than most, they're a no-brainer if you dig the colorful and busy retro vibe. If you're interested in my opinion about whether or not these are clones, or just want more details, feel free to read on. Otherwise, grab these while they are at this price.I noticed another reviewer mentioned that these were clones. I was a little surprised by this, and wasn't aware that they were when I ordered this item. Of course this made me curious about how they stack up to the original article, so I did a little digging. First, let me back up and give some context. Usually, what most would call keycap "knock-offs" aren't really exact copies of a well-known set. They're usually more what I'd call "the well known keycap set we have at home", referencing the meme where you ask your mom for a high-end item, and she reminds you of the cheap, low quality thing that you already have, because she doesn't really understand the nuances at play, and because she's freaking cheap. That's what most knock off keycap sets are - No one who has seen the real thing is going to think you are trying to pass it off as the real thing, but it will have similar design cues, colors, and theming, usually with generic fonts and generally lower quality. It's the kind of thing you settle for when you see something awesome on Drop, but aren't so dependent on impressing strangers on the internet that you're willing to pay $200+ to buy the 3 sets plus extras you'll need to cover your normal person keyboard. I am an artist myself, and I don't want to rip off artists, but I have no compunctions about paying less for a similar, different set that stops short of copying their IP.So back to the main thrust of my essay here, as I looked around, I found that this set appears to be an exact replica of a set that is commonly called the "PBB X ACGAM SFC 1990" Hiragana or "Childlike" set. The only weird thing is that the ONLY 2 differences I can spot is that a couple of pictures of that set (which I'll call the SFC 1990 set for short), is that they have a full round stem, while these have a cruciform stem (see my attached pictures). In fact, the pictures on the Amazon listing for THIS product show the round stems as well. I also found at least one set with a couple of purple variant keys colored to match the North American SNES instead of the Super Famicom. Other than that, these appear to have the same font, graphics, and print quality as the real pics people posted of SFC 1990. I was able to find the SFC 1990 set for sale from $100+, down to ~$35, depending on the vendor. That's a little strange, because it means a company is copying something 100%, opening them up to possible liability and having to stop manufacturing if the original manufacturer comes after them. Obviously, there are less reputable companies in some parts of the world who are LESS concerned about this kind of thing, but it's still a very costly risk to take, especially at these prices. That led me to start looking into the original companies that allegedly manufacture SFC 1990, PBB and ACGAM. Oddly, neither of these companies have their own websites that I could find. They also seem to deal in fairly generic sets, and the designer is rarely attributed in sales listings. This leads me to suspect that these companies are likely bulk purchasers or resellers, who pick up available designs and distribute them to vendors. Am I 100% sure about this? No. But based on the lack of variation or quality, I'd say it's a pretty good stab in the right direction, and I would be willing to bet this is the same thing being sold elsewhere, probably made at the exact same place. Ultimately, you'll have to be the judge (if you even care!).One last thing, I want to say that when these keycaps arrived, and I opened them, it immediately started a fight amongst my children about who would get them for their keyboard. That was settled when it was made clear these were for papa, but apparently they have nice first impression appeal.

Arrived next-day. Packed very well, excellent presentation. Comes in a multi-layered plastic case that serves as a lid for lower layers. Re-usable, and organized well. Thin foam inserts between each layer to protect keycap tops.Stems are strong and a good, tight fit on the various BOX switches I tried. Caps are a decent feel - I wouldn't call them smooth but I wouldn't call them rough or scratchy either. A happy middle-ground that feels good to type on. They're on the light side which is fine. Cap is a white base so scratches shouldn't be too obvious if they build up over time. Cherry profile is always welcome.Legibility gives way a bit in favor of the artistic sketch theme. I could see this potentially being a disruption for those with poor eyesight or reading disabilities when relying strongly on hunt-and-peck typing. That said, they do look good, especially with a white switch plate. (Some of my photos are yellow-shifted because the whitepoint goes haywire on my phone looking at the blue work surface.) The included 4 "blank" keys look like they have a removal plastic cover so you could write-in your own custom keys. I usually use the 4 extras over the numpad as media keys, but my handwriting is atrocious so I didn't try to write anything in.I installed the keycap set in an old Skyloong GK108 I had, with Kailh BOX White V2 switches. These caps feel pretty good on those switches, although I'd recommend some foam or o-rings on at least the spacebar. They also felt good on BOX Brown V2s. To be fair, I did give them an easy test to pass. Long ago I added PTFE switch foam and a slab of butyl rubber in the base. The extra mass, damping, and steel plate make it easy to get a good typing feel, with an acceptable noise profile.Comes with a lot of alternative size, height, and legends options. Strangely, I did not find a Win key, context menu key, or a blank 1.25U or 1U to fill in for special keys.I think these might be on the high-side price-wise for a set of keycaps, but the container, plenty of extra options, and unique style is probably worth it. They're quality caps as far as first impressions went.
