This filter and hood do not fit the Canon 50 mm 1.8 STM lens, the pack include a 43mm UV filter and the lens tread is 49mm, second the diameter of the lens is bigger that the diameter of the hood.Comment based on a recently purchased 50 mm lens 1.8 STM here at Amazon

UV Filter in that kit is completely unusable for nighttime. There are a lot of ghost glares if you are trying to take a picture at a dark time in a city. I used 50/1.8 lens.At the same time, the lens hood is pretty convenient. A small button with a lunch protects the hood from self-unscrewing while lying in a bag or when you try to take the lens from a bag without looking into that.
