After passing inspection by microscope a coat of clear cement is applied to the engraved area to ensure water resistance. Our enamel is warranteed for life not to fail. We bought this as a present for my mom who was diagnosed with CML 2.5 years ago. She loved it and it helps her to own it, but not let it ruin her life. This is a small yet noticeable nice piece of jewelry.
